Amex downgrade

The trim down continues.

Amex Platinum has been downgraded to Gold.

Platinum had a $650 +\- with AU cards. Now I have $160 AF with AU cards.

i only took 1 trip last year and may not get away from work at all this year.

also closed my Care Credit as well as DW's.

DW's Discover went bye bye as well. We don't need 2 of 'em

Wow... no Care Credit? The 0% offers have been a God-send for me (impromptu dental work).

I understand, though... we all have a different 'sweet spot' when it comes to credit.

Less than that amount leaves you needing/wanting more, but once you get past that specific amount it's really just over-kill (and extra paperwork). Just my opinion, anyway...

When does Amex allow you to product change? Is it after having the card for a year? Anyone know the requirements

Why Gold? PRG offers a lot more for another $35, and Green is cheaper if you just want to keep the account open.

I guess if you have multiple AU's, Green doesn't make sense. If you have regular AAA and don't travel, then you can't benefit from PRG's extras.

Agreed. The gold and green are useless IMO (from a rewards standpoint). You would be better served with the PRG or PC to a ED card.
