I just applied online for Target

got told that they need to do more research....

Sound like a denial.....

I applied for Hooters

They said I was approved but that was it.

I applied for the carnival credit card w/juniper and got $7500!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guess I was a little apply happy this evening...

I think most people get approved for $200 instantly.

It is not a denial. They might need to do manual review. target has their own bank.

It appears that you were right.

I checked the site and it said that I was approved for the Red Card

Did not say Visa and did not say store card.

Any Idea which one and why they did not say?

It did not tell me a credit line either.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Red is the store card.

which is what they pulled

according to True credit was 670 - yesterday

according to myfico it was 666 - yesterday

I was of course hoping for the VISA...
I wish they would just tell you - like the carnival sea card did...
hopefully the cl will be more than the stupid $150 walmart gave me...
I am such an addict ....
I will thinking about this all day until I get all the cards and know the cl's

niki9 i have a question for you which site have you checked to see if you were approved for target card ?? because i apply last week at the store ,and they told me my application requires further processing . we will contact youby mail within 10 days .

I applied online and it gave me an application number

but it only allows you to check you app status 1 time.

I called Hooters and they gave me a $500 limit at a 15.54% ....... the rate is better than other cards I have ... but the limit is low ......

I wonder why. The pull the same TU on the same day as the Seamiles and that limit is $7500 .. and the best rate on a card that I have 13%.

I wonder why they have such a big difference.

This is a secret formula type answer. Us mere mortals will never be let in on the secret. BoA approves me for 1st a $2500k cl and then 2nd a $10k cl. I can assure you that nothing happened in the 20 hours between applications to warrant me being that much more "worthy"

I NEEEED to know the CL on the Target approval.

Does target have a number that you can call and find out?

Also, for some reason I thought that Target would pull TU .. but I they pulled EQ and the pulled it twice for some reason ....

I'm hoping you've done a search on this site, and you already know this, but the pattern seems to be that you get a store card ("Red Card" ) with a $200 CL. *Don't freak out!!!* If you use it frequently and pay it down briskly, you should be upgraded to the Target VISA in 6 months or so, although one poster griped about using his card and not getting upgraded, while his wife didn't use hers and got the upgrade. (Did the account numbers get switched, I wonder?)

So anyway, don't get offended if you get a CL of $200. Play the game, and apparently it will turn into a decent little card. But still, a good idea to do a search on this site.

That is why I thought I was going to be denied when they had to investigate further .......... I just assumed that they would give me the INSTANT $200.

Right now that would have been better than not knowing and waiting around.
