"7-10 business" response in Chase Freedom App

Hi,

Just applied for the Chase Freedom CC. I had my mind set for the CSP, but thought that was a little bit out of reach given my info. Anyways, I got the "7-10 business days" response from Chase saying that they needed to verify a while longer.

I have 6 recent inquiries, 3 of which I'm hoping will be removed after contacting the lenders.

Recently got approved for CapOne QS1 for $3,500.

Any thoughts on chances of approval for Chase Freedom?

CS: 680-700

Visa 10/11: $300 CL

Best Buy CC 02/14: $750CL

CapOne QS1 Mastercard 10/15: $3,500

Student Loans; $90k

Auto Loan: 8,700k

NO missed CC payments

Couple Auto Loan payments missed.

Income: $50k

Hard to say. You can try calling the automated/app status line to gauge your chances on the progress of the application. If it yields anything along the lines of 30 days or 2 weeks/14 days for a decision, then it's likely ok. If the 7-10 day message is provided then that be a decline or a request for further information - YEMV. The 7-10 day message is typically a denial but not always.

UPDATE

Just called the automated line, and it said "2 weeks"....

Agree.

OP - it's not a final decision yet so you can periodically check to see what it yields (this can take time FYI). If you have Chase online banking, you can also check there to see if an account pops up if approved.

agree- 2 weeks hasnt let me down from chase yet. but I have heard stories of the status changing from 2 weeks to 7 to 10 days. Good luck! if its 2 weeks week, you more than likey got it!

UPDATE

Thanks for all the feedback.

Just called the Chase Backdoor number. They just needed verify some personal information, which I did.

After that, she informed me that I was approved for the Chase Freedom with a $1,000 CL. I was expecting a higher CL, but I'll take it. Got my foot in the door with Chase, which is what I wanted.

No idea. We are not Chase underwriters and we have no idea why you're getting an "X days" message.

However, you'd be better off with any creditor without those derogs. Hit the Rebuilding subforum and see if there's anything you can do about them. Do whatever it takes to avoid dergos in future. They tend to have a significant impact and hold one's scores down as long as they are on reports.
