Amex BCP Grocery Tracker

As the title implies, does the card have a tracker that tells you where you are for grocery spend for the year?

They'll tell you in chat I think but there is no online tracker that you can view.

I never saw any way to view/track it online. I would doubt it; due to the infamous reward delay, I'm not sure how tracking would really work, because it too would be delayed.

I didn't think so...I figured if I could track spend, then the rewards would catch up eventually.

Right, obviously tracking the spend would post as transactions post. But, I could be wrong -- I thought Amex determined "grocery bonus" eligibility officially when they pay out the 6%? It may say one thing under MCC when the transaction posts, but that doesn't always mean you get the rewards. It is determined later, when the rewards are paid. Therefore, the tracker would be delayed.

I could be completely wrong. I just thought Amex merchant coding vs reward coding sometimes differed. Don't remember where I heard it, but heard it somewhere.

I don't think that's right. Amex is basing their rewards entirely on how the merchant is coded. They do that with MR rewards as well as cashback rewards.

When you look at the year to date spend, it tells you with the pie chart... That is how I usually keep track of mind with the BCP..

For me, it has. Have you not seen anything coded for groceries with the pie chart? I mostly go to Stop n Shop and BJs, and it codes it accordingly...

Interesting, I never thought to click into the pie chart. It's interesting. See's Candy coded as groceries!

And I hadn't really paid attention to whether a little local market coded as groceries, but it does. Earlier today I downloaded my whole MR points accumulation and had seen that, but I hadn't seen See's.

I just made my first purchase at Shaw's Friday night for Grocery spend. I didn't check to see if it posted yet. BJs coded as grocery?

I don't have to look at the pie chart very often since usually all my charges on the card are for either Publix or Kroger (with the occasional Amex Offer thrown in for good measure), but it's nice to know it's there.

I'm 'small potatoes' compared to many of you... LOL, but considering my grocery shopping is only for one person, I still get my money's worth out of the card. My reward balance is low because I take a statement credit each time I'm over the $25 threshold.

I dont have BCP. I have BCE. I think they are similar in tracking reward category spending.

It's two ways of tracking spending.

First, it's "Track reward dollars" from the card's main page. It shows Qualified year-to-date spending. I beleive it is not actually year-to-date. It starts on date account was opened. Also, this information have one or two month lag.

Second is under "Statement & activity" tab. Choose "current statement" and hit small link "here". You can see rewarded transactions there.
