Back to Back Chase App's

Any harm in apping for Marriott and CSP on the same day if eligible? Huge AAoA, well inside 5/24, 740-760 scores, mortgage, auto loan, 1 existing card (10k sallie mae).

Trip planned for office manager and asked for help using rewards, 5k fed taxes and 3k state taxes will cover spend. Trip is in July. She would like to app today. Plan is to close 1 at the one year mark and roll limit, Keep other (whichever works best for her and hubby).

I have to compliment you on giving a complete profile picture....well done

That being said I think she stands a good chance of approval for both and limit will be based on income.

The only downside is Chase and the infamous double pull that may happen but since HP's are low anyway and sounds like someone who doesn't app often.

Spend is planned and a very well thought out plan

I say go for it.

Personally I would apply for the one that she values more first.. I would probably personally put the CSP first due the the 5x24 rule and just get that out of the way.. After hopefully an instant approval then do the Marriott. That is just me though and understand the 5x24 rule won't impact her.. I doubt she should have issues with a strong profile, but Chase is weird sometimes and will only approve 1 CC when people duel apply.. Just a YMMV or something along those lines why some people get doubles and some don't. Probably has more to do with their credit profile being thin or thick.

Chase is very iffy with two applications in a month. Some hhave gotten approved for both and some not so it is your YMMV. My advice to you is to apply for the one you really want first.

Thanks everyone. Her concern is to have cards in hand to get her taxes paid by the due dates. 5 weeks from today at the latest. Maybe I'll have her app for CSP, Call a CSR and ask when would be the best time to apply for a Chase hotel card to compliment CSP for the large amount of travel they have coming in the next few years. :] Maybe they can somehow green flag the app, Maybe not.

What if she did CSP first and then did a Business Marriott card if has the same sign up bonus. Would that seem ok for applying for two cards in one day with chase.

I'm not sure if this will be helpul, but I had similar stats when I apped for CSP and Freedom at the same time. Actually, I think her fico's were higher than mine. I apped CSP first via the prequal website and then the Freedom seconds apart and was approved instantly for both. Relatively low CL. BTW, I got one inquiry on EQ and one on EX. Don't forget to have her ask for the Cards to be overnighted. CSP, at least will do that.

YMMV but I have done the 2 app same day process with Chase

Cost me 3 HP's

(2) for CSP EX EQ

(1) for Hyatt TU

CSP approved same day Hyatt the next day but Chase loves to DBL pull me anyway.....2nd time they've done this

For some reason they love my CR's ....Dag Chase take a break on a churner and save some luv for other lenders....Geez

Nope, aside from the potential for multiple hard pulls.

Qualification is a potential issue with any creditor and a matter of one's credit profile and income.

Good plan... and for Marriott use a different browser maybe? I am going to try my luck on my next app like that but on my profile expect a denial for the 2nd app. The only risk is that she would get hit with 4 HP 2 x double pull in worst case and a denied 2nd app...... no risk no fun Go ahead and report back .. Same here... no pre-approval - no instant and all go into manual review for me and like a clock double pulls for each and everything
