I'm thinking of applying for Chase Freedom and need help.

I'm thinking of applying for Chase Freedom just got approved for Discover It 2 weeks ago. My scores are in the 720's. I have 7 back months of credit history. PIF every month. 0% Utilization. I wonder what are my chances of being approved?

Go to the Chase website and check and see if you are pre-qualified and report back..

I wasn't pre-qualified. It said Chase was unable to find me any offers.

How many cards do you have? Your history is slim but I think you might have a chance. Just for the sake of utilization, does your report show 0% utilization or a small %. I ask because maybe let a small balance report.

Ok. No worries. List yours for seperately for TU, EX and EQ. Also, you stated you have 7 months of credit history. Do you have any baddies at all? What cred card do you have now and what is the limit?

I have 2. A Capital One Platinum that was PC'ed to a QS which is my first card and got that in July and the Discover It which I was approved for 2 weeks ago. No baddies. This statement I had a 2% uti on the report but usually it's 0%.

What are the limits on these cards? How many inquiries do you have on each report?

Is your Cap One eligible for a CLI increase? One of my thoughts that is that Chase is viewing your existing CL's as low.

Since you only have 7 months of credit history, it's not surprising they you're not prequalified; lenders just haven't had time to put you in the system yet.

6 months is probably the first big jump in establishing credi, though atleast 1 year history looks far better.

That's good that your util is at 2% instead of 0. You should always try to keep a small balance on 1 card. Having 0% util can actually damage your score, so try not to let that happen.

I'd say go for it. I don't get any pre-quals since I'm under 21, but I got approved yesterday for $2k @ 19.24%. My scores are similar (maybe a little lower) than yours, and I only have 2 months of my own credit history (but 6 years as an AU). Good luck!

I'm looking to get the Freedom since I know the categories differ in quarter from the Discover It. May sound dumb but hey I can't lie. Lol.

Ok.. Although you are not pre-qualified, apply for it. If you are not approved instantly don't get sad or worried. You have 30 days to get it approved / recon. Report back with results if you apply.

What bureau a lender pulls depends on your state / region. Waht state are you in?
