For anybody who either has extensive knowledge of how the benefit works or has used it before, would the price protection work on travel (say, a cruise or airline ticket). "Item" seems vague and subjective on their website, so even some clarification of yes, it must be a physical object would be super helpful!!

I would highly doubt it.

Travel and lodging prices change hourly depending on supply and demand.

It's not going to work for those types of purchases..

Correct. The price protection is more for durable goods OP, not for travel.
