Barclays Apple Rewards Disingenuous?

I have had this card for some time, $7k credit limit which gets bumped when I use it heavily. They started to send me the Apple Gift cards. On the paperwork it specifcally states these cards are good on the iTunes store, App store, and iBooks store. Not true. Come to find out these cards are only good on the Apple store and does not work on the others. While I have several ipads in the home we are an Android family and PC family so this entire program is mute to us other than to sell these on Ebay. Curious why they advertise iTunes, App store, and iBooks when the card is not valid with those services?

There are 2 different gift cards you can select on your account. itunes and Apple Store. Log on and see what you have selected.

Edited to add: Each specifically states what their use is for when you log on and choose a selection.

Yep, I was just about to post that. They DEFAULT to the Apple Store card so one has to go into their account and change it to the iTunes card. Guess I will sell these on Feebay and pony up on the fees.

Many on here have been able to PC to another Barclay product via Facebook Chat. Most report having no luck via CSR on the phone. I plan to try the online chat in a few months when my 1 year statement cuts. Im pretty much done with Apple gift cards myself. Otherwise, I like Barclays and their customer service. I just posted about an APR reduction from 14.24 to 10.24 % earlier today.

When you say PC change, are you referring to changing gift card type, say from my Apple store card to Itunes card? Thanks, I did read about the APR reduction , nice job. Last I called them 5 months ago, they oly dropped me 1%.

No. Product change to a different card. One of their rewards cards for cash back. If you've had the card for a while you can simply tell them it no longer meets your spending needs but you would like to remain a Barclays customer.
