You may try as often as you'd like. I've never heard of any negative repercussions. SP CLI's are all automated anyways.

But I wouldn't bother trying again until Citi soft pulls your CR again. Until then, Citi will be looking at the same credit score as they did the last time they declined your request.

The 6 month rule only applies if your SP CLI request is granted. Though perhaps more rare, I have seen plenty of SP CLI's granted before the card ages 6 months; I myself got a CLI on my DC before it was 6 months old.

Ok so i got approved for the citi dc about a month is a half ago. I have been using it the most since its 2 percent cash back with 0%apr. I have been searching and it seems like they will allow a SP CLI around the 6 month mark. Well i logged into my account right after my 1st statement and it showed that i can request a CLI with no HP. I tried and was denied a CLI. I logged into my account today to pay the bill so my uti will read 0 when my statment comes out, i checked the request a CLI again and it says it will not be a HP. I don't want to push my luck so should i save the SP for say right after the 3rd statement?

you can SP as many times as you want, but I would wait for at least 3 months, probably more like 6 months if I were you.

I got my soft pull CLI right at 6 months from approval. Exactly 6 months later I requested a second soft pull and got it again.

Most people have no luck until the account is 6 months old. You can try, but success is usually limited with the SP until then.

Have 3 Citi Cards... DC, Premier and Aadvantage.

Premier did grant a sp cli at 4th statement and denials stateing 6 months between after that.

DC has only granted clis at 6 months and there after.

Waiting to see if verbaige changes on 4th statement with Aadvantage as with the Premier.to a soft. Even if it does, more likely it will be a denial.

Citi seems pretty consistant on the sp clis as others have said every 6 months.

That said, may not even try (internal limits) Kind of curious about the upcoming costco card. Is it possible to have too many citi cards?

Once you get one SP CLI, you're typically shut out for 6 months. So it's not like you can grow your limit rapidly.

Now, if you're just talking about over the long term, then I agree. But in the short term, hitting the button repeatedly won't do much.
