Verge Card?

I received a preapproval for some card called Verge. It really should be illegal for a credit card company to charge the fees this company charges: $125 annual fee in addition to a monthly fee of $10 on a credit limit of $500. lol. I shredded it, but was wondering if anyone here has heard of that card. It seems like a total ripoff.

Consumerism.

There are enough secured cards out there, that bothering with an unsecured piled with fees seems silly IMO. Those fees could equate to a deposit for a secured with a lender who may even graduate your card in 12 months.

I think the card you might be referring to is actually the "Verve" card, not "Verge", but "Verge" might actually be a more appropriate name for the card since you would have to be on the verge of insanity to have any verve for the card.

+1000. I don't understand why people get offended by the crazy terms of a CC company. If you don't like the terms...don't apply, simple as that. This is America, you can charge what you want, and if we, as consumers don't like it, we can choose not to patronize the business. That company would either see the error of its ways and change or eventually cease to exist. If we use the mentality that everything is "criminal" based on fees and markups then most things in this world would fit that description. If that's the case then it's "criminal" for General Mills to charge me $6 bucks for that box of Lucky Charms that I'd guess only cost them pennies to produce.

Wow, that sounds like a nightmare. I think it is sad that there are people who don't really understand credit who will end up with this product. This reminds me of the time I got a pre-approval in the mail for a Capital One secured card. Ummmm, no thanks.

Just as you did, one does not have to sign up for a given card. It's up to each person to assess whether or not a given card suits the individual's needs/wants. IMO, one shouldn't just respond to preapps and offers. Sort out needs/wants and use that to select products.
