I read that it couldn't be done. Numerous reps told me it couldn't be done. But I'm here to tell you it can. After 5 phone calls and over an hour of my time I successfully pc'ed the Barclay rewards card to the no af arrival card. Hopefully this helps some one else in the near future.

Congrats. I wonder why Barclay's makes PCs so difficult. It seems like it should either be a "yes" or "no" but policies seem to vary depending on which CSR you speak to, which is silly.

Barclays gets a bad rap and in most instances earns plenty of smack justifiably.

However, i also come to learn in my experience with them, that exercised with enough persistence, you can break thru some of the walls to your favor.

I can't count the times i pressed them hard for the Sallie Mae but they just wouldn't budge. BUT, they had no problem with an Instant Approval for the Rewards MC during that same period.

Fast forward a year+ later and they were repeating the same denial for the Ring Card that i experienced trying for Sallie Mae. SO after a number of calls to their Analyst Dept over a period of some days and coming away with them consistently saying that they couldn't PC my Rewards for the Ring Card i finally hit paydirt with an Analyst who gladly approved the PC to the 8% Ring. They weren't willing to extend any more limit but at least they DID do the PC and that was acceptable enough.

You want to always try to make good a HP if at all possible.

Congrats! OP on that successful PC.
