Just activated Amex BCE

I just received and activated my AMEX BCE card and I'd like to increase the SL. What number do I call? And what do I say? I already called the number on the back of the card and they put in a CLI request and was denied due to new account.

If you already called and your request has been denied, I will say wait 90 days the request another CLI

Yup, that's the way things roll sometimes OP. I would take the BCE approval, use the card and let time do its thing (hint hint GM BuyPower Card ).

Thanks guys....should have consulted with you first lol. Oh well 90 days isn't far. I'm gonna start counting down the 3X CLI.

In the mean time, gonna meet my sign up bonus tonight lol

Just so you know, you don't have to call them to request a CLI. You can do it very easily from your online account.

what was the denial reason? was it due to the account not being over 60 days? if that is indeed the only reason i will non confrontationally argue that you probably can do it at 61 days (though success is determined by your credit)

if you have a sub $2k limit i would use it heavily and maybe wait 6 months

Limit is $5K.

Reason is, they only allow CLI's every 6 months and I just got a CLI on my AMEX ED card on the 16th. Makes no damn sense. Was told I'm only allowed to get CLI's on all cards every 6 months. Confused! This is a brand new account. Why should actions from a previous card affect it?

Oh, should have mentioned that before Yup, only 1 CLI every 181 days regardless of how many cards you have.

No, you need to decide which of the cards you have do you really want/need a CLI on. You can't ask for one on multiple cards at same time. Won't work

No, you have to take turns. Each 6 months, one AmEx will get a turn. I got a BCP last April and got 3x at activation. Decided I wanted to go for MR's so got an EDP in September (downgraded BCP to BCE) and had to wait until October for the next request. Got that.

Now I have to decide in April what to do. I'm paying close attention to what we think will be the case as far as when Citi will pick up what CL's are for the TE-->Costco Citi Visa conversion. The TE could use the boost if we're sure enough that Citi didn't already pull the info on CL's.

Cap1 lets me get CLI's on all cards the same day lol
