WALMART cash at register

Still $100 a day of course, but they just raised my available cash back to $1000 from $200. CL is $6000. Sam's is still stuck at $200 ($8500 CL) but maybe it will go up too when the account is a little older. Just nice to have if I ever have an emergency.

There's been some luck on the board where people have called Credit Solutions (check the pinned sites for the number) for the cash limit to be upped after a CLI if it's still at the original amount. Give it a shot.

My experience with the Walton operation is that once you get $100 cash back and you have a balance on your card, your future charges will be approved, and the cash back denied regardless of the cash back limit.

you have a cash back limit, what this limit is, is related to the type of card you have, if you have the store version its limited to 100-200. if you have the MC version you are limted to about 10% of your CL.

Typically, the cash back CL is 20% of your regular CL, but they don't always increase it as the regular CL increases. I have a $5K cash back CL on a $25K CL, so I'm right at the 20% mark. When I had a Wal-Mart CC, that was stuck at $60, based on 20% of my original $300 CL. Even when I got that CL up to $5K, the cash back CL didn't budge for quite some time (eventually, it caught up).

I have store card and my cash limit is $2000. 20% of my $10k limit.

I have store card and my cash limit is $2000. 20% of my $10k limit.

you guys are right, i just checked my 10k limit store card, it says $2000 cash limit. i guess they change the rules over the years, I also notice they are even giving rewards for the store card though gas purchases are pretty limited because you have to use a walmart gas station or a murphy's station that doesn't exist where I live.

WM MC 5k limit. 1K cash advance. I use it, sometimes. Dumb paying for the fees but I use it for convenience, a few times a year. WM not my favorite place. I don't think all "cash advances are bad". .?

Are there fees for getting cash at the register with a purchase?

I've not used this feature yet with my Sam's Club MasterCard, but I always thought it would work like Discover's 'cash over' feature, in that it would be like a purchase. In the past with a HSBC Discover card the 'cash over' amount was simply combined with the purchase, with the combined amount shown on the statement as a single transaction.

No fees at all associated with getting cash back on either Walmart card or Sam's Mastercard. It's a nice feature of both cards.

It's on your statement. You can't see it on online summary page. View last statement online and you will see it.

What fee? I used this feature about a year ago and I didn't have a fee.

I didn't have a fee, but I PIF before my statement cut. I'm not sure if that makes a difference. I will use the feature again this month but I won't PIF before the statement generates to see what happens.

There are no fees at all on both Sam's and Walmart cards to get cash back in a Walmart or Sam's Club, no matter when you pay your bill.

You would of course accumulate interest if you allowed the balance to progress into the next statement period. I think people are confusing fees and interest here.

I am in a bad spot currently. Have I gotten cash back and paid Socal Edison and gas company? Yup worked beautifully. Watch your statement cut. It can work to your advantage.

Have I gotten cash back bought scratcher tickets? Nope I'm in a bad spot, not desperate.
