Ok few weeks ago I contacted Citi and had the APR on my AA card lowered to 4.24%. Days later I requested to PC to the Double Cash card and everything went smoothly. My statement cut today and I logged in to my account only to notice they slightly bumped up my APR to 5.24%. Nothing has changed at all since my last reduction so I can't seem to figure out why they increased the rate all of a sudden. Could the PC have triggered this? Should I call them and request to switch back to the AA Platinum and see if it restores the original APR?? But at the same time I dont wanna draw unnecessary attention to my account

It's definitely the PC that caused it. You didnt lower your APR on the DC card but on your AA card. Creditors don't have the same APRs available for all their cards so I'm even bit surprised that they didn't raise it more. I don't think it would hurt to ask but don't be shocked if they say no.

I agree with Irish - it's from the PC. Anyway, you still have a very low, single digit APR. I'd just let sleeping dogs lie.

lmfaooo the comments on this thread got me laughing so hard that I totally forgot bout my worries. But on the other hand I did give them a call and the rep said the lowest APR on the rewards card are slightly different from the travel cards so during the conversion the APR was adjusted to fit the category of the new card im moving into. I dont know whether to take that answer with a grain of salt but I've done couple of PC in the past and still retained all the original account terms. But anyways she said I have 51 days to switch back to the AA card and everything will revert to original... still laughing hysterically from the comments lool

Do you have the card for the APR attached to it or the rewards? I am not sure I would care about 1% APR change vs rewards that would be more useful. I am just curious about this...nothing funny or trying to be smart.

Very sorry to hear about the APR increase after the PC to DC Mister (I just had a chance to read through your thread a few mins. ago). If it's hopefully any consolation at all tho, you definitely still have the awesomest APR on the forum -- especially for a Citi DC with 2% rewards; your 5.24% is 100% amazing, in mho!
