As others reported this week my Chase Amazon Visa is getting upgraded to Visa Signature too. I just got a SM from Chase letting me know of the change.

Yea I just applied last week while shopping on amazon and got a $2000 limit and was suprised to learn it was a signature because of the low limit, and actually though it was some kind of error at first until after I searched here.

Just posted in another thread that I received the upgrade too. I would never have known, until myfico sent me an alert about my reporting change from credit card to Flexible spending card this morning.

Upgrade letter as well this A.M

Since the Amazon Store card was revamped giving 5% statement credit, feel like every card in my wallet is better than this one. The V.S to me is meaningless.

As Amazon's priemium card offering, think it needs revamped. Anyone else?

Likely close it in a few months when it hits two years.

Mine got upgraded too, so I'm thinking they changed the card to a visa signature. My CL is 2k as well.

I also received an email/secure message about the upgrade. I only have a $2,000 limit and the rewards aren't that good, so I never use the card. I probably won't ever use it again unless they make it worth using.

Hmm, interesting. I haven't used mine since August, no upgrade for me, so I thought they would upgrade people who use the card a lot. Anyone else got the upgrade without using the card much/at all?

I've had a $500 limit since the card was opened two years ago, haven't used it for at least one year, and got the upgrade yesterday as well.

You might want to click on your messages and double check. I never got notification of a new message or upgrade, but when I went in and checked after reading these boards, there was the message.

I do not have the store card, but with Salliemae, I feel this card is useless as well. I transferred most of the credit limit off to other chase cards. My intent was the same as yours, after two years passed, I was going to close.

Question. What is the minimum limit that you have to leave on the card when you close, 500? I only have 1500 limit left on the card after transferring previously. If I can transfer some of that 1500 to another Chase card, so much the better. Last I heard it was around 500, can anyone confirm?

Just checked my account and sure enough mine got "upgraded" too. I thought that was cool for a moment since I didn't have a signature card before, but I immediately went to check the benefits to see what I gain. I had the impression that signature cards don't offer price protection, but this was kind of hard to believe since platinum cards offer that. Unfortunately it seems I was right. There's no mention of the price protection benefit in the signature benefits. The upgrade seems to be in terms of travel accident insurance. Given that this is an amazon card that I'll probably never book tickets with, this is really a DOWNGRADE, since price protection is THE benefit for me to have on a card. I'll SM them to inquire about it, but if price protection is indeed removed, I'd be really pissed.

Higher swipe fees I assume. Mine has a decent CL, but for others with less than 1K, yes it makes little sense, as people with low limits probably aren't using their cards much and the "upgrade" to signature alone is not going to change that.

My card was upgraded also. I got an email this morning saying to check my Chase secure messages.

While I was reading that message, it says "Your Credit Limit will now be referred to as your Credit Access Line. With a "Credit Access Line", you can continue to revolve, or carry from month-to-month, transactions adding up to your total Credit Access Line."

It also goes on to say...

"We will assign a credit access line to your account, and post it on your monthly billing statement. We may cancel, change or restrict your credit availability at any time. Each transaction is considered for approval on an individual basis, including those above the credit access line. We may not approve all transactions."

So it looks like it is going to kind of work like Paypal credit......each purchases will be on a case by case basis. Maybe I'm wrong...not sure!

Well I guess I was a bit ahead of myself. I went through my card's benefits and my Platinum Amazon Visa didn't have price protection either, while it did have travel accident insurance. It seems that the only upgrade in benefits is lost luggage reimbursement and some weird "travel assistance" that's good for nothing. And I guess it might also be converted to a flexible spending account, although this is not clealry stated. So it seems I'm not losing anything with this change and the whole thing brought to my attention the fact that my card doesn't have price protection as I believed, which is certainly good to know.

Is this truly a Visa Signature card? Isn't there supposed to be a minimum credit limit for such a card?

I received the notice too in March, but I still have the $500 CL that I was given when I got the card.

I'm wondering if this technically isn't a Visa Signature card, but it has been given some (all?) of the Signature benefits.

Has anyone received a new card that actually says Visa Signature in the corner?

In one of the threads about this, someone posted a picture of the new card they had shipped to them, and it did say Signature on it.

Lenders vary on how they enforce "signature" requirements. Some are very strict that the minimum credit limit is $5000 to be qualified for Signature benefits, and others don't care or don't enforce that.

My Chase Amazon has been sig since I got a few years ago. Signature means nothing to me... average joe. Amazon gave me ~$50 to sign up so I said okay. It is beat by both the store card and Sallie Mae. My plan is to close both Chase Amazon and Slate in the near future. No more Chase for me.... ever. They suck.

mine got upgraded and CLI to $10,000. never use it.. store card my main amazon card .. watch those rewards add up

Had the card with a $3000 limit for 3 years this is the first cli ever..

has never been an issue.. use it maybe once every 4 months to keep it active
