@Anonymous wrote:

Update 1: Called first thing and although I was unable to get a rep from the right lending department after speaking with 2 others, the last rep suggested I wait on that letter and respond to the questions in letter. This leads me to believe that it maybe an income verification issue which should hopefully turn this ship around. DW and I recently had to submit documentation to Amex for the same purpose. I will keep you all posted on my progress as this saga unfolds.

Thanks for the update. I think it's BS that lenders can't tell you why they closed your accounts over the phone, and always tell people to wait on the letter. I could see if they suspected fraud or something, but if they closed it for anything else then they should tell you over the phone. Letters can take awhile to get to people, and most people want to know right away why they closed their cards. I know I would be frustrated. Did you try calling one of the backdoor numbers that they have listed here on MyFico, or are you calling their main number?

All 6 cards closed after United Club denial. No reason, wait for letter. Balances have risen recently, DW has not used any of her cards as we're waiting for mortgage to close. Really stinks, but card T&C do state that they can close for whatever reason. Will pay off and go on with my life.

OP has six chase cards yet the credit lines add up to 21.5k? It sounds more like op has either a thin file or some negatives in past or low income. If any of those are the case chase may watch the file closer. I'd be curious has to the timing of the chase apps. Were all these cards apped for in a relatively short period of time? We have seen chase close people down for that.

I hate seeing posts like this as I have a few Chase cards that were opened recently. I posted this in another Chase AA thread, but it seems to me that Chase gets very nervous when you bring up util on any of their cards past 50% or so, even if your overall util is in the 15-20% range. That is why in that other thread I suggested that if your Chase accounts are less than a year old, to keep your util on them to less than 30%. Sorry this happened to you.

This is the second person on here within the last week or 2 that had all of their Chase cards shutdown after app'ing for a new Chase card. Although the other person app'd for 3 cards at once, and then tried to recon the denial of one of the cards; it was after that his cards (as well as the cards of the person he was living with) were shutdown. Perhaps Chase is cracking down kinda like Comenity? I'm doubtful it was the utilization that did it. I went up to 70% util on my Freedom when I first got it (0% APR, don't judge ). Maybe they are starting to look at number of Chase cards issued per address? I don't know, just throwing ideas out.
