Western approved me for my highest credit line to date (10k) I have a ton of inquiries, about 30% util and a lot of new accounts. After I was approved for the account she also told me I was preapproved for a personal loan up to 25k but the interest was 14.9. She mentioned if my credit score went up to 700 I would get the lowest rate for this product. This credit union seems super laidback and open about how to qualify for their products.

Update: Unify CU CSR mentioned that go-interest rate is actually 12.5%, not 8.5% as cited earlier

As an update to one or more of my previous threads, I received my first Western/Unify CU VISA card electronic statement today, and the statement listed that the go-interest rate is actually 12.5%, not the 8.5% figure cited by an earlier Unify CU rep I spoke to earlier over the phone (the previous rep had said that the go-to rate had been lowered as a result of a manual review that went in my favor). Over chat, a new rep today mentioned that the 8.5% rate was only during the intro promotional period, so I guess that means the earlier rep had had incorrect info at the time they had talked about the lower go-to rate. My signature line has been updated accordingly to reflect the latest rate info (I guess the saying that all good things come to an end is indeed true, lol), but the good news and silver lining is, not all is lost, b/c I was offered a substantial SP-based CLI! Keeping my fingers crossed that the CLI request goes through successfully...

Another update/data point: after the CLI to $7k was approved, my Unify CU card was updated from VISA Classic to VISA Gold. VISA Gold apparently carries a lower go-to APR than VISA Classic, so my new go-to rate with the new card is actually now 11.5% F, rather than 12.5% F. Definitely no complaints out of me here lol, as I am more than happy to take a lower APR any day!

I spoke with them because I'm interested in this card too. They said you need a 750 for the lowest rates, so I guess I'll garden a little more until I'm not so borderline.

Have you tried any BTs or cash advances? They told me you can use the card like a PLOC/overdraft line by transferring money (or just overdrafting my checking account) which would be a big plus for me.

For anyone interested: they hard pull Experian for each credit product and require 2 paystubs for income verification

Anyone a 1099 employee or self-employed and apply for a CC or PLOC with Unify? I hear they are a SOB with POI even for CC's which is insane, but I haven't read anywhere on the forum if instead of two paystubs (one month) they'll take 1-2 months business bank deposit statements as income prove.

I don't want to app and find out that they want my tax returns and/or a T-4506 from me which would waste the HP.

Any Unify members that have received credit limit increases on their credit cards know if you have to show paystubs/bank statements on every CLI or just upfront to get approved for the cards? Someone needs to start a long term Unify/Western thread showing all the approvals and CLI approvals like what Ballerina has done on PenFed. Unify is hidden credit union gem with those 4.99% credit card rates and two credit cards they offer go up to $50,000 credit limits!

WOW! This credit union makes ultra-conservative look like Evil Knieval! I have never heard of any bank/credit union ever ask for paystubs/bank statements on CLI requests.

I'm going to email them today hopefully about self-employed and 1099 employees to see if 1-2 months bank statements will suffice for income verification.

Ok, then we need a sacrificial Unify lamb member to go ask for a CLI on a credit card to see if you have to prove income again with them.

Any takers?

Don't be shy, grab the Unify glory!
