There are a couple of credit union cash back credit cards that I was tempted to name. But since you have a baddie, I think that would likely disqualify you for now for any of them since my undestanding is that credit unions are strict about that kind of thing.

Also, I just now sent you a private message.
Message Edited by MojaveMoon on 11-24-2008 04:54 PM

I have been very patient with my credit. I'm working HIPAA and I have one other serious baddie that I will hopefully be consulting a NACA attorney with soon. I have one inquiry on my CRs from 1/08, one 5/08 and one 8/08 (which I was told would be soft, but wasn't... oh, well) and I was waiting for accounts to age before apping again. I was eyeballing the 1-2-3 Rewards card from Fry's because my wife shops there and we can get $0.15 per gallon off on gasoline for every $100.00 in groceries. As an added bonus there are free groceries. It's not a lot, but we're spending the money anyway. DW has decent credit and I was wanting to add to my credit profile, partly curious as to what, if anything, I would qualify for. So I was going to apply... and then DW sat down at my computer and apped before I could stop her. So she was approved but we had to wait for the mail to arrive to find out it was for $6500. That's a lot of groceries. And she got a bump in score due to (I assume) reduced overall utl. I could have used that!

So now I'm back to patiently looking for another card that makes sense with my spending habits and bank diversification.

you could always see if 1,2,3 would let you add joint account now that it's open and add yourself, that would really help you probably.

USbank is about the only bank I can think of that allows you to do joint apps right online, otherwise it would just be authorized user which would be no inq to you but would help a little.

but many banks you can call after the fact of getting the account and request forms to ADD joint account.

I'm thinking about adding a store card as I have none and considered them a waste of time as they are expensive(APR) and have limited usage, although the more I learn about FICO scoring the more it seems that one store card could help with my mix.

I was approved for $300.00 which isn't much, but should help the mix a little - even if they are stingy with CLIs.
