Which card to use with car service

I don't usually use car services as I will take cabs, but next week I will likely need a car service because where I am going there will not likely be any cabs easily located and I will be moving some heavy boxes. That being said I use Uber or something similiar what would be the best card to use for that? I thought I heard they had a promo for the amex spg card? I also have the citi premier which I think covers travel. Also have prestige & amex plat which may work well for charges like this?

Odd. They don't mention the CSP at all or the Citi premier. Does Uber not count as travel for those cards? I wonder if the cap 1 offer can be applied to venture cards as well.. In addition, does anyone know if I can save the free rides/discounted initial rides when signing up? This uber ride coming up I will be able to get reimbursed for, so I don't want to waste my free signup ride on it. Update: Bah, the cap 1 discount does not apply to the venture card only QS and the Amex offer apparently applies to new uber accounts. Maybe I can make one now and then make a different one later to use with the amex.

not to be rude but you ask how to use your cards on almost EVERY purchase. maybe you should do a little research on what's out there vs what you have and look at the details on your cards.

I recommend you DL the "Wallaby" or the "TPG To Go" apps. You can enter all the CC you have and it'll recommend which one to use in order to maximizing your CC rewards.

Best card for uber (at least until they end of april) is the cap1 quicksilver card. 20% off, plus your 1.5% cash back.

Other than that, whatever travel card you have for your most preferred rewards program. They're all about the same. CSP will give you 2 points (travel), 3x with the citi premier, whatever points you're used to. I think amex does 2x on uber now (membership rewards).

I know you can earn SPG points through uber, so if you're into that, you could use your SPG card (if you have one).

Best savings opportunity though, would be (if you've never used uber before) getting a referral bonus thing ($20 credit), or look for coupon/promo codes. =]

Capital One also gives you your first ride free up to $20.00 I think too.

Yep the QS and Uber combo has been amazing. I'm going to miss it when its gone at the end of the month.

The Wallaby app is pretty cool. The customer service is responsive as well. I couldn't find the Red Roof Inn Visa on their app so I submitted it and they added it within a day or so.

Red259, if you are being reimbursed you should not worry about which card to use. Save any promotions, and discounts for your personal use in the future.

Some programs offer more points back on the spend, which is why I asked the question, although it seems like the discounts (at least in some cases) apply only to the first time using Uber, even if you used a different card. At least that is how I read the amex offer and I think uber bases accounts off the cellphone number, so I can't just make new accounts when I want to use the discount. I may go with an app for taxis that does not have any signup offers as a result (although I have heard that the app isn't super reliable), so that I can save uber and lyft signups for when I want a ride back from the airport.

There are some great Cap 1 QS offers right now, but sadly those don't extend to the venture card that I have.
