You aren't seeing the transaction description? There is still a Category, with text of the type of purchase. Was there the actual MCC code before?

I use my US Bank cards to export the MCC data. That's the only consistent numeric code source I'm aware of on my cards. BofA is description also, no 4 digit code that I was seeing there.

Citi's new website "enhancement"

I noticed Citi has slightly changed their website up again. I was reviewing my Double Cash and noticed on the account summary page, there's no longer any way to expand and view the MCC. Doesn't really matter for a Double Cash, since everything earns the same, but for those with TYP earning cards, seems annoying.

Citi is already less than transparent with rewards, since they don't show them on a transaction basis, and now it will be even more obnoxious to verify you are getting the right rewards. Basically have to go back and do the math. Not a huge big deal, but annoying when others like BOA, Barclay',s Chase, etc show you the rewards easily per transaction. Minor annoyance, but I could see people with TYP cards finding this annoying since you already had no way to verify per transaction, but at least you had the MCC.

Why do companies insist on being so vague with rewards? Discover is the same way. They give you your total, and that's it, and you have to hope they get it correct. First world problems of course, just annoying! Again, the Citi thing doesn't really matter for me, but figured others may find it annoying.

You never saw the actual MCC, but you would see "record stores" for example. Now, there's no option (on my account, anyway) to expand a transaction and view these details.

Mine has a little arrow symbol to the right of the transaction. Click that, the arrow switches to point down, and the transction detail expands?

There we go. Disabled adblock and I see the little arrow now, so can still see the merchant category descriptions.

That said, why can't they show rewards per transaction!?

Would be nice to see Citi and Discover catch up to this. I know it's not a big deal, but you figure it would be very easy for them to not give the "correct" rewards because people are less likely to notice when all they're given is the monthly total.
