Keep 2 Sam's Club store cards??

My first one is 18 months old with $8500 limit. Started at $437.

I felt lucky and apped for Sam's MC.

Got another store card with $937 limit.

I am close to max at Synchrony and I don't want a cli on 2nd card.

Close it now or let it sit for awhile?

I didn't know you could end up with 2 store cards. I thought if you already had a store card, app'd again and didn't qualify for the MC that they'd just decline the app. Interesting...learn something new every day...

The Sam's store card & Sam's MC are a strange one to figure out. I have both due to store credit opened at $600, now $10K. I waited for a possible upgrade, but seeing that evidently was not going to happen.... I waited exactly 18 months and applied outright for Sam's MC. I was also afraid that I would end up with another store card & elated when approved for MC.

My mastercard was approved for $2500....now up to $8500 & still debating if to keep/close the store card (hadn't decided because ot the extra cushion it provides).

They will combine limits. I ended up with 2 walmart store card. They combined the limits and closed one.

Yes, I believe. The main reason for my sams mc is a new store very close by with a gas station.
