Who is a Barclays expert here ? Need advice on PC

My Apple Rewards just arrived about an hour ago. I didn't realize that I only have 30 days to take advantage of the special financing on apple products.

Can I call now before I even use the card and ask for a PC ? If so what is my best option or options..This is my first Barclays card.

PC means product change, i.e. change it to another card. Doesn't sound like that's what you want to do.

If you mean a credit limit increase, forget about it. Barclays won't do it.

I do want to product change since I will not be utilizing the apple special financing. So I am hoping I can product change but have no clue what is my best option...

I doubt you will be able to product change, since yours is a cobranded card. But if you can, I would guess that your only option is the Barclay Rewards cards.

I already tried. They won't PC it. Barclays is like a step mom. Nice and loving as long as you don't need anything from her or talk to her. I have not found them to be very flexible at all. I have the Arrival and the Apple cards.

I doubt you can do that since one is on VS network and the other is MC.

One thing i can suggest OP is, if your scores are good, apply for another card that you like better, if approved, you can close Apple and combine the limits of both cards for a better card with higher limit. I am doing the same thing this month. Got Apple and Rewards MC 7 months ago. Paying off rewards MC this month and closing it to combine the limits on Apple card.

Barclay has done PC from Apple to Rewards card on one or two occasions reported on these boards, but it doesn't seem frequent and you'd have to show a good history with Barclay first.

A number of other lenders don't PC cards, either, (Chase comes to mind), so this is not exclusive to Barclay. And Barclay actually does PC certain cards, just usually not Apple because it has looser UW requirements than a number of other Barclay cards.

huh? barclays has given many CLIs upon approval and even throughout card ownership... some of the things you say are baffling considering how long you've been on here lol.

One of their CSRs explained to me that cards with little no history are had to get some things done with. When I wanted my JetBlue card I could not PC my Apple card over I had to cold app for the new card but I could move some of my limits from other cards to the new card if I wanted to.

I would agree with Terror, I had an Apple and used the lower my apr trick for sp $500 CLI.

There are numerous threads that discuss the process, but the jest of it is call one of the backdoor numbers and ask the CS rep for a apr reduction, they in turn will transfer you to to a specialist and check for offers

1st offer may get you 1% reduction and then you ask if there is an offer for a sp CLI. they will check and let you know. Just make sure you confirm sp. I did theses 3 months after having the card.

You aren't going to have any luck PCing it.

That's the Barclay card I started with in 9/2013 and tried to PC it multiple times and was told it wasn't an option.

In late 2014 I was approved for Sallie Mae... transferred the Apple limit over, and closed the Apple.

My advice is to wait it out.... you are in the door.

Barclays just advised me to sit tight and build a history with them. They did say when I was ready to make my purchase at Apple to call them and see if they can extend the special financing offer...They did offer me a cushy BT @ 27.24 - Also credit services told me I got a great starting CL and to use it and it will grow in a year !

The 0% offer is just for purchasing Apple products I think. You can call them and ask them for it later if you are making a different apple purchase.
