hello every one i just joined navy fedral yesterday applied for a card instantly approved for 11k what is the time frame for requesting a limit increase in the future.

3 statements and an AR happening after your 3 statements... AR's are roughly every 2 months so you may end up at 4 statements depending on timing before it would be recommended to then apply for CLI online and ask for $25k.

Definitely follow CreditAddict's suggestion as he is the resident NFCU guru. You also might want to take a look at this thread (or at least some of it) as CA has been kind enough to write up a guide to CLIs with NFCU

I didn't read all 360 pages of that guide, but how often does NFCU do an auto-cli on their cc's? I got one just a few months ago, and am trying to avoid EQ HP's atm.

ok thanks guys for posting the link to credit addicts thread i have another question when i applied chose the Platinum card no rewards i was just trying to get in the door when can i ask to upgrade to a rewards card?

Besides a high CL, what are the advantages of their cards? I looked them over, and nothing looked that fantastic compared to other offers from other banks. Low APR, but USAA offers lower, 1.5% CB but plenty offer that or 2% and a few without the FTF, reward points I can't see what you can do with them so no way to judge that.

it's not rewards points it's cash back so you can get a check or statement credit as expected for any amount rather it's 1 cent or whatever. no minimum. also you will most likely get an APR reduction every anniversary (you need to call for that) and their member service is good and always open. easy app to maneuver too

last Question my wife is two months past chapter 7 navy let her join but what is there BK policy how long should she wait to apply for a card?

Thanks for the info. I've been looking to see if it would fit in my portfolio. Currently run CSP/Freedom, Ink+ app in review and Arrival+ (going to remove at AF). Planning on some co-branded cards, I travel a lot (1-2 times a year) for work and currently live overseas (defense contractor now, but still have my NFCU account) so no FTF is a must, and travel points is my goal for personal trips.

I love my Flagship, even more than I got it to 25k now, it started as a goRewards and I PCed it when I got the credit limit to 10k. No FTFs on the Flagship btw...

I am a bit confused and a bit unhappy as well... I waited up to 4 months after having my NFCU Rewards CC and PIF each month when I requested an increase.. Not only did they pull my credit (hard pull) but also declined me.. I have a $0 balance on my cc and have had it since July 2015 and so far I haven't received no increase or anything.. I seriously don't know what to do or believe.. I got the letter and they state its because of my BK -- well if that's the case why did they give me a cc in the first place??

My BK was discharged in 11/03/2014 so I'm not sure what's going on.. :/
