Amex Blue Sky PC to BCE?

Hi guys,

so my fiance' has the Amex Blue sky which he opened years ago. Reading about the rewards itself on that card, it is kind of useless in his everyday spending. He does not travel much and he definitely uses that card more on gas and groceries. Do you think he has a chance to PC his card to the BCE or BCP? Or does he need to app for the card itself? Thanks!

Yes he has a very high chance since it's in the blue family of cards

Forgot to add you can also app the card

Get the bonus and roll the blue card limit over to the new card

SP if denied HP if approved YMMV

Lol I'd rather you ask then not know so bravo

Ok here's what you do ....do not log in

Just go to the Amex site and apply

The computer will pickup on him based on his SS#

If denied for the new app in most cases it's a SP because he is a current customer

Rare cases a HP

If approved it will definitely be a HP

if you already have an amex it will automatically be SP if denied, and HP if approved so you never have to worry about wasting a HP with AMEX (again, if you have amex already)

so I wanted to let you know MJ that my BF could not get the CC changed. They said it is not possible to convert the credit due to the difference of points from Sky and cash back to BCE. Weird right?

So the best course of action is to app since there's a nice bonus going around

This is correct OP. The cards are both "Blue" but they run on different reward systems and therefore cannot be switched among each other.

The only option for BCE is to upgrade to BCP.

That is exactly what I told him! but he is totally oppsite from me. That is his only card for 10 years and I am going crazy he does not want to take advantage of the current offer!

If he applies and is approved

Then he can spend all sky points

Then roll all or some of the the limit into the new card BCE

And either close or leave open with a lesser amount

His choice

If he closes the card will remain on his CR's for up to 10 years

Thank you MJ and KDM, i guess the only reason why i'm pushing him to because i obviously cannot app for it sonce my EX score is low. Its that "itching to app" in me lmao i'll bug him some mlre eventually he'll give up hehehe

Remember that an advantage of older accounts may be a longer AAoA. Converting an account retains that age, but applying for a brand new account does not.

Applying for a brand new card can often yield a much higher CL. I had an Old Blue Cash stuck at a low limit, but Amex surprised me with nearly $15k on the Blue Sky a couple of years ago.
