Barclay Credit line decrease I hate it

woke up this morning check my my acct... my 3500 limit with a usage of 190.00 (never carry balance on card) was cut down to 500.00

i was so mad, called credit specialist and she said due to opening few accts early this year... I was so mad, my utilization is 5%.. My statements cuts this morning 6th months.

Instead of a CLI. they cut it, I am so mad ... ANYONE expereince this kind of scenario??? I do have a Barclay Cash Forward with 6k limit... do you think they will decrease it too. im on my 4th statement on it, never carry balance.. use it around 400 and pay if off right away.... pls advice

Sorry to hear that. I only had it happen to me one time before....with Barclays! It was one of my first cards a few years ago and I used it a lot and after 6 months the gave me a 3x CLI! BUT then a month later they offered a balance transfer and I took it. Once I paid it off, they decreased me!!!

Everything got better on my reports so it didn't make sense. Since then all my other cards have grown, and I still haven't fully recovered back to that limit with them yet.

I'm confused. You called Credit Solutions? That is Synchrony Bank not Barclay. Did you call Barclay?

I paid if off the balance today.. Im planning to sock drawer both Barclay card.. I got a feeling that they will CLD my CashFroward card when 6th staement cuts... any other lender do this kind of scenario??

Well looks like Barclays once again continues to solidify their infamous reputation for exhibiting their cut n slice routine.

So sorry OP that this is happened to you by them.

It seems like some card customers just can't catch a break because of Barclays shenanigans

Don't know how others look at it but i don't see anything so extreme on your end which would force a CLD from them.

Barclays has a reputation for doing that sort of thing.

Sorry to hear OP. There's seems to be a lot of AA lately by different lenders.

I'm carrying high utililty on my Lowes card. Could end up with AA from someone too. None so far, but I've given up trying to figure out what triggers AA at this point. Let the chips fall where they may.

One question OP...what is your total credit limits in relation to your income?

This really concerns me since my sallie Mae has gone to the SD in place of my hilton hhonors. I've also opened 3 new accounts in the last 6 months. And overall I think I've opened 17 accounts in the last two years. I was new to credit and went a little crazy.. I've since closed 6 accounts.

Sorry OP for your troubles. I'm chomping at the bit to cut them loose! If I didn't still have more than $400 in travel credits sitting on this card. It would be cancelled already. As soon as I can burn them..it's gone. I don't even want them to PC it..good riddens Barclay's!

Im guessing the lack of use did it. sorry op. not much to advice. Move on.Im actually thinking about closing my Barclays Card. They are just not good imo. I have a 5k apple card with them and that is it.

Sorry op. Your new accounts and inquires are not much at all. 4 new cards really isn't a lot to me and I have several Barclays cards and have been given AA by them. But we are taking like 15+ new cards. Do you have a thin profile? Regardless they can be wildcards. Sorry about your AA but it does make you stronger in regards to these type of things.

I'm carrying high utililty on my Lowes card. Could end up with AA from someone too. None so far, but I've given up trying to figure out what triggers AA at this point. Let the chips fall where they may.

One question OP...what is your total credit limits in relation to your income?

income is 57k

score in TU EXP and EQUFAX is all above 710

total credit line is around 98k

income is 57k
