If you are getting results through the luv button and chat then I would continue to use them. I think calling CS too often could eventually backfire. Walmart is usually good for a CLI every 4 months with everything YMMV. I'm not sure about Pennies and Sam's. DH has a Sam's card but he has never used it.
Hi everyone! My 1st post so be gentle. Like most newbies been " lurking " for about 2 months or so since i found this forum and its been a blast, really helped me on my credit rebuild journey.

Anyhow a question i have is kind of two fold:

: 1) when hitting the "luv button" many times on different accounts does this affect your possible ability to get increases in future or can it make you seem desperate . Most times ,especially with Synchrony accounts, when hitting luv button and not instantly approved, you can receieve unable to grant increase at this time or or other reason , then you get mailed letter. From what i gathered so far here it is better to call Credit Solutions which brings me kind of part two of my question.

2) is there specific time period i should wait to call for an increase especially given that i received increase maybe 1 - 2 months previously. Main accounts im interested are my Walmart, Sams and Pennies. Should i try to wait 4- 6 months between calls as to allow my score to raise as well as my experience with current limit.

I appreciate any insight on the requesting of cli's through Credit Soltions and the luv button. Any advice on how to post better or clearer is greatly appreciated as well. Look forward to continue to grow and learn with my fellow MyFicoers!! Have a great day!! Ps hi mods! Feel free to move if this should be in general credit section wasnt too sure Thanks

I don't think there's a time frame on calling Credit Solutions. You're probably best served by calling asking for the increase and if they say no because you've just gotten one, you can follow up and say when do you recommend me calling back? That's probably the best answer and estimate you'll get.

Oh a side note, I had no idea about Synchony's high increases. I have a Banana Republic Visa card I regret opening. Funny story is that I applied for it thinking it was a rewards program and not a credit card and just thought it was weird when they asked for my social. This was back when I didn't pay too much attention to credit and types of cards. The only card I had at the time was my $200 Chase Freedom card. I thought store cards were lame though so I was really unhappy when I received the card in the mail LOL. Didn't realize it until then.

But yeah, I've probably used it 5 times since I was approved, but humhumhumhum or whatever his name is told me about fat increases through Credit Solutions. I had a nice increase from $3000 to $5000 last year. I called Credit Solutions last week and had it increased to $25,000 even though I requested (and was denied) a CLI online about a month before. Called back the next day to ask for $30,000 and they said before I could be approved, I'll need to verify my income haha. I'll rarely use this card, but the utilization padding is nice I must say.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Much appreciated. I was thinking along the same line as credit guy as i figure if i do wait a couple months my profile should be better and as i read here recently when your scores get over 700 and your profile supports it an increase may be easier to get. I believe it was someone called Takashi, please forgive me if your username is miswritten or pronounced , that whether you buy one item or tons or if you make a million dollars or 10 thousand, or you use your card once in 6 months or everyday, your overall profile can help determine what you are qualified for.

Ive started my rebuild basically from last year as my bk7 falls off sometime in 2017 april i believe. Ive made some mistakes along the way but having found this forum is really helping me with better understanding of credit and my scores.

I believe i got Sams back in july 15 at a sl of 737, we all know how weird their sl are , had one auto increase to $ 1037 and eventually increased to $5050 after hitting luv button about 2 months ago. Funny things is one week before increase hit button and sorry no can do. Next week after i finished making a payment for around $100 , i deciided oh what the heck Walmart had just given me an increase ( oddly enough through chat an option i learned from My Fico ) , i decided to hit luv button and they increased me to $5050! Havent tried CS yet for them thats one reason why i was curious about time difference in requesting.

To start with, welcome to the forum.

For me personally I hate talking on the phone so have never called for a CLI. For the button you are eligible every 4 months until a point, requests made sooner than that you get a lovely letter saying "not enough experience with current credit line". My Sam's MC went from 3k to 10k doing this then all online requests came back with "account ineligible" so finally I got on chat and asked them for 20k which was approved.

Thanks , i too dont really like talking on the phone either so i would prefer maybe chat 1st. Funny thing ive been wanting to increase my Penny's account for awhile. Im currently @ $3800, not too bad i must say as this started out at $ 500 last year and they were actually 1st to give me a cc after my bankruptcy. Anyhow i decided to use chat recently and everything was going well until she came back from the normal 2 - 3 minute wait you do and informed at the moment she couldnt do it but gave me a number to call with a reference . I said my thanks and decided not to call was worried probably say no or something else. I know shouldnt be worried as the worse they can say is no. Lessons learned This was also increased back in Feb. Thats also why i asked my question about times to ask for increases. Felt maybe increased recently and maybe they want me to gain some more experience with newer limit. I initially had some success with the button but for now they all seem dry.

Another thing i note that can be weird with the button is sometimes after you do the dance it will say " no dice" more or less but then later on when you check your account there was an increase. That actually happened to my Walmart card. I started with a $150 cl about same time as my Sams, july 15, after a couple months auto increased to $ 1800 then one day i hit luv button said not enough experience with credit limit, then like either same day or day after when i checked my account , it was increased to $ 2600. I even got the denial letter and the approval letter basically around same day! Go figure. Wally world is...Wally World

To those who are reluctant to speak on the phone to an analyst or customer sevice representative, I can certainly understand that.

Please know that there is nothing to fear with talking to Synchrony/ Credit Solutions. They only ask for income and put you on a hold a moment to see if an increase is allowed. They are extremely nice to talk to, and don't grill you. It's a pleasant conversation. I've had 12k-15k increases in one phone call with Credit Solutions and defintiely recommend them.

Conversely, I've never received a single CLI using the "button" with Synchrony. I've also requested CLI in chat, turned down for CLI in chat, but 2 minutes later called Credit Solutions and received a CLI to 15k on two accounts.

Your mileage may vary, but you will generally see many more incidences of high levels of success from people calling in to Credit Solutions. Reps in chat don't always seem to be empowered to help. I hope this information helps someone.

In my experience, my CLI was more tied to my TU score rather than time. While I'm sure there may be some threshold for requesting increases in respect to time, I can certainly tell you that with Sync, time won't heal a lower score. If your score is low you can wait a year and still not get anything from them. Trust me, I've been there and done that. But like with most cards, I'm sure there's a ceiling as well in regards to how high of a limit they're comfortable with providing on a particular product.

TU score is very key with Synchrony / Credit Solutions in granting CLI's.

Thanks humuhumu , appreciate the advice. It is definetly worth following . Actually drawing from my experience from calling Credit Solutions, once to ask for increase for my Amazon prime card and for the newer Marvel card, they seemed very nice and it wasnt a bad experience. I havent reached , or maybe should say the comfort level of going all out asking for $25,000 or what not but when i did ask for $5000 they came back and approved me and you leave feeling empowered. Much love to this forum for other words i may still be at my original SLs. When i got approved for the Amazon, i wanted to get it near my Sams/ Walmart so i asked for $5000 instead of 10 or getting countered. In the case of of Marvel was approved for $1500 and said what the heck gonna ask for $6000 as i was seeing many on here who were approved for $1500 getting approved for six, this time asking for the extra thousand. Im hoping when it comes time to ask for new cli for Sams Walmart etc ill cal CS and now be more comfortable asking for $10000 or more

If only it was as easy for Synchs Car One CC, been at $ 500 for almost a year called in twice and for some reason cant seem to get an increase weird...

I would sit back, take a deep breath, pick up the phone, and call "right now"... Credit Solutions 877-379-8173

Ask for 10k on every card. They can only say no and it hurts nothing. I have been told "no" a couple times. Just say "thank you soooo much, I'll try again in a month or two".

I have always been polite and respectful, they have always been very cool. Welcome and best of luck when you call

Thanks Elim Will definitely give it a try. I figure can try now if they say not at this time well ill just put on my chill pill hat and relax for a couple months. . For any newbies like myself reading here definitely absorb all the knoweldge you can from the helpful forum members especially those with some extra experience because i went from having a nice $12000 total credit limit available to about $52000 total available in about 2-3 months since finding this site. One thing i keep in mind is credit can be given and taketh at any time so any increases i get is like icing on the cake. Thanks again everyone for making my first post a memorable one. Ill definitely let everyone know how my next couple calls to CS goes!!!
