Citi DC WEMC PC?

So, I had a notification on the Citi website, and an email, that the DC benefits were changing.

They did not SPECIFICALLY say that they were changing to the WEMC, but it's the same communications I got last month, before my AAdvantage card upgraded to a WEMC.

Although I do find it funny that it might end up being a WEMC with a $500 CL.

lmao I got the same email and wondered the same! The 24 month warranty is a WEMC benefit not a WMC benefit. I'm gonna subscribe to this thread and will let you guys know if mine gets upgraded. You guys feel free to do the same!!

The crazy thing is I tried really hard to get mine upgraded not so long ago and now it's happening on it's own (well hopefully). Citi is a bit messy sometimes but once this is done I will be content to have at least one WEMC

It's the exact same wording as when they upgraded my AAdvantage card.

Has a date of mid-May. I think it was a few weeks after the date on the AAdvantage when I got my new card. Nothing SPECIFICALLY said WEMC unti I got the card in the mail.

I had a notice that they shipped a new card about two weeks before the new card arrived. So that's probably what to watch for next.

...and this is why Citi is messy! I called to see if they can send me a new card and the rep has no idea what I'm talking about saying that my card is not a WEMC. I will wait until my card is mailed to confirm...

So.... does this mean they will be sending us new cards on their own? Or if we request a new card (or the card expires) our replacement will be the WEMC? Did you guys have to request that a new card be sent out when you spoke with them?

I requested an expedited card because I will be traveling soon and don't want the card laying around in my mailbox. However, it will automatically be sent out / replaced. Unless you need it ASAP, your current card will have the new features next month starting the 15th - regardless if it says WMC or WEMC the benefits are tied to the account. You can keep using your current card and can expect the benefits / new card soon. You will be notified via email when your new replacement card is sent out.

Wonder if they did this bc the secured card is now the Diamond MasterCard upon graduation according to a rep on the phone. Was calling to get the new look secured card they just released

I spoke to EO a while ago about getting my WMC upgraded to a WEMC, and what I was told was that originally the DC card was issued as a WMC and later on DC was issued as a WEMC. Now what they are doing is upgrading all the old WMC in batches to WEMC as that's what the current card is being issued as.

Some people on here say they want the card as a WEMC so they can charge merchants higher swipe fees.

Seemed like the EO was way more helpful to you than they were with me. All they told me through the multiple times I've called them is that WEMC upgrades was solicitation only or something like that and that they or I couldn't do anything about being upgraded. They made it seem like it was random.

When I tried last year, they said that I would only be eligible once my 0% intro rate was over. Called them after it did end and got the "it's basically random" response.

Also, the person I just chatted with said that they couldn't tell if my account was at World Elite level, but that a new card with new benefits is being sent to me. He gave me a number to call to "get more details" and to get the card expedited. I'm assuming it's just a general CSR number.

@I also tweeted @AskCiti and they said that I would be contacted if my account were changed to World Elite. I personally haven't heard anything though. Not a big deal. I've been done trying to make the change for a while and given my luck and Citi's personal track record with my account, it doesn't seem like my account is personally being upgraded to a World Elite account despite these new benefits.

Hey guys! I can confirm I got the upgrade to WEMC! I can also confirm that the magnetic strip is no longer shiney it's matte / blue. I'm so excited! My first WEMC Hope you guys get the upgrade too!!!

Customer service (general #, chat, EO, and Twitter) confirmed with me that my account is still just World. They couldn't find anything that says my account is World Elite. Seems like I'm the only one too. Sucks man.
