This is a fantastic offer however I encourage anyone considering applying for the card to learn as much about the American Express rewards program and the Platinum card as you can before you apply for the card. This card comes with a hefty annual fee and is a travel card.. The best use of the rewards points is when you transfer them to Amex's travel partners. It does you no good to be approved for this card only to find out that you have no use for the points or the travel partners do not fit into your travel plans.

Its a very tempting offer 100k is a nice chunk of change. I would say at the very least you would be getting around 2k worth of travel.I am including the 200 dollar airline credit in that estimate. It may even be worth for it an quick earn and burn.

I just took an look at my ex fico to see if my credit report could handle an amex app. I am not sure i am quite ready for new app

Got a system downtime after it was processing and they said they would get back to me with a decision.

Talked to a CSR and they said there seems to be an issue with applications right now...

Did you contact anyone after that happened? I went on chat and they gave me new applications number and the lady kept telling me she can only process new applications with an attitude...first time AMEX wasn't really helpful.

Exact same thing happened to me.. Couldnt talk with anyone, just awaited until following morning and HP happened that day not that night and got approval email around 9 am ish I think? Doubt you have had a HP done yet against Exp

It seems to be working now (at least for me). I was just approved.
