About to close Overstock...(UPDATE)

~~I havent been on here in a while but I wanted to check in and see if anyone has experienced this:~~

Overstock sent me a letter back in March stating they auto increased my limit to $750. Keep in mind I havent used this card since last August nor have I signed into my account since then. So I said okay that's nice. A few days later I get an alert that they pulled my credit report. So I immediately call them to inquire about it and they stated that I requested the increase. I said no you sent me a letter stating that you increased it yourself since I havent used it in a while. They would not budge with removing the inquiry. I made a complaint and they came back and said the same thing that someone logged into your account and requested it blah blah. So we go back and forth about that so I submit a complaint to CFPB and they send it to FTC or whoever so now I'm waiting on that response. Here's the kicker they send me ANOTHER letter last month saying they increased my card to $1000. I check my spam today and they have increased my card AGAIN to $1250. I feel like now they are just playing with me.

I wonder what the FDIC said that the others didn't. Took 3 different routes to get this removed!! Sheesh. As you can see, THEY gave me an auto increase a month apart. Glad this headache is over!

Good grief what is in the water at Comenity. Goodluck getting the CFPB/FTC matter resolved to get that HP removed.

Wow. Never had that happen. If you've lost confidence in them, can't say I blame you about closing them. I haven't felt their wrath and the crazy unannounced closures (knock on wood) but others have, so why not let them go; its not like you the need account anymore LOL.

WOW!!! The same thing happened to me last month, but I didn't realize they did a HP for that increase from $300 to $750. Like you I haven't used card since receiving it in November or December of 2015. I need to give them a call also. Thanks for the info.

Freeze your CR's for starters(so no one can put a HP on you) or 86 the card. Good luck with getting the HP or HP's removed

This happened to my DW. had a comendity sportsman guide card visa. We used it a few times last year to buy some ammo. Then it sat for about 5 months. She used it again in March for a free shipping offer and they did a HP on her....

Although I have never been granted an auto-CLI for my OS card I have requested many, Never has it been an HP.

I have been looking for a reason to close mine but keeping it open has done no harm, they are reporting monthly to all 3 with no use.

Congrats on gettiing the inquiry removed ladym2011! That's a feat sorry it took so many different routes...They probably thought you weren't going to fight it
