There are varying data points on approval, I think the lowest I seen was between 660 and 670. Keep in mind though, barely making approval comes with low SL's. Also keep in mind more than scores are considered when making approval decisions, your whole profile is taken into account.

Seen 650 range approvals, but your whole profile is considered as other poster suggested, not sure your score and it appears you have an Amex card already so sure some of your history will be considered and a SP most likely if denied.. Most won't get in with 650, even if you do you are likely to get stuck with a 1k CL and 1k CL's are harder to get up then 2k, 3k, etc for CLI's from my experience and other stuff I have read as well.

Looks like you have a Plenti card which means you have some history with Amex. They use an internal scoring model in addition to bureaus. I would give that Plenti card some good usage and PIF. After a few months of rinse and repeat you should be good at about 680 YMMV. Good luck.

I had no score and was approved.... My first card was my discover it in June 2013 and got the Amazon store card in August. Got the BCE in Nov 2013 with no score since my history only started in June 2013. my CL was $1,000. Now I currently have around $25,000 in CL between my 3 cards

Amex is an odd duck these days really. I was just denied a blue cash preffered the letter stated "recent payments to your other amex account to low" and "to high of balance with other amex accounts" Which honestly I didnt understand and called for a recon. they did an HP and then got a letter 7 days later stating in a nut shell that "we are standing by our origional decision" In the denial letter they said I had a 782 fico score. Then I see people on here just starting their credit journey or with similer and lower scores than me get their card and 60 days letter get a x3 limit increase. So IDK if they love you, they love you, if they dont, you have an up hill battle So needless to say I have sock drawered my amex card and switched to my chase ritz as a daily driver as they seem to like me lol.

To give you an idea of my payments and balance with amex accounts. I also never carry with them I would just pay off what I spent that month so dont understand either reason with them......

Some serious Amex spend you got going on there. Assume that is platinum? Weird they would deny you on a BCE/BCP with those scorse and that kinda spend unless they want you to continue using not as good reward earner aka platinum for their reason? Who knows shrug.

I was approved at 652 but have a tick credit history and prior history with Amex.

So who know,s ....

have over 10000000 credit line and 5% utilization.

670's when I was approved for the BCP and delta. The bad is those are the only cards that have never grown. Maybe one day.

From what I've seen the scores are all over the place. I've seen ED approvals I think as low as like 630 recently. But then others who it would appear are in way better position get declined.

I tried at 661 and no go. Have a 674 now and havent tried but I would wager it would be a no as well since I can't get a prequal on their site. I would wait. People who barely get in are usually posting the next day about how to get a CLI.

It is never just about score but you can refer to the Credit Pulls Database (Google to find) if desired. Don't just consider approval. Your credit profile will also impact the limit, APR, etc that you qualify for.

Identify the issues with your credit profile, address them and then apply. Don't just rely on what you think might get you in with an approval.

It's not the limit that matters. It's one's credit profile that led to the low limit.. If the credit profile improves sufficiently the limit will increase. If the credit profile doesn't sufficenlty improve then there may be no headroom for a CLI.
