Is it safe to assume this is the toughest card to qualify for from barclaycard ?

Ok I have the Hawaiian card but was told by Hawaiian I can't use my miles out of the closest airport to me because it is restricted this time of year. Was thinking of just getting a general travel card. I have 45k miles I can't really use

IMO all barclaycards have similiar UW... I have had the ring and 3 other cards, no issues with getting approved for any of them and TU was always below 700 when I applied for the all, granted in the 680-700 range.. No barclay's cards are "tough" to get. What limits you get are maybe where scores help out a bit more along with APR of other cards other than the Ring where it is a set APR. History also plays a role with Barclay's as I have over 20k with them now for awhile they were only comfortable with x credit limit, then after more time x+more then where I am today. All same UW IMO other then Rewards/NFL/Apple are probably a bit easier

Arrival and Venture are nothing more than a cashback card marketed as a travel card so if a travel card is what you seek you need to look elsewhere

Amex

Chase

Citi

etc

Now if you just want $1 for $1 reimbursement on money you already spent traveling then Arrival is fine

I've learned my lesson on debt and always PIF now. I still have 1 CA that is 6.5 yrs old and 1 CO with 0 balance 6.5 years old. Started my rebuild late AAoA is only 1.5 yrs. TU 660, EQ 665 EX 663 all 08 version scores. Tons of recent INQ, mostly from an Auto loan Ally pulled me 4x on EX

Totally agree! Don't be intimidated by them. They're not hard to get. I have 4 of them including Arrival WEMC & Ring. Didn't mind inquires or new accounts. Keep credit score decent and have a good report.

Based on what I've read I guess I'll keep waiting and I guess just close the Hawaiian card since I'm not allowed to use the miles

I hope you transfer the miles to some other airline/hotel partner before closing the card. Or maybe call Barclays and see if they have some sort of retention offer for you (not sure how Barclays is with that as I only have one of their cards and have never needed CS).

edit: I posted that assuming you would lose the miles if you closed the card, but now I'm realizing that probably doesn't happen. Need some more caffeine--I'm barely awake.

They have partners make sure you transfer points to one of their partners if you cannot use them. I have 60k approx miles with them planning a trip to Hawaii with those miles, hopefully I don't get the same response.. Where were you trying to fly out of and to?
