AMEX app question....

I went for the Blue cash everyday and got instant approval $2000. This was at about 9 pm tonight. If i app for another Amex revolver will it be another hard pull since it is now 1 am ?

Edit: I think i'm going to hold off on apping for a second card with them. I gotr the card that I wanted the most. Araid it may be another hard pull now that I have waited a few hours since my first app.

Many people have apped for and been approved for more than one Amex on the same day but the results of a HP can vary. Keep in mind Amex cardholders can app for another card and if declined it's a SP if approved its a HP. I would lean towards another HP but ymmv.

People have reported getting two cards with one pull for Amex, but there is no guarantee that it will be a single pull, always assume you'll get two.

I was able to find this information online:

10. If you apply for multiple American Express cards the hard inquiries will be combined. As long as all of your applications are approved on the same day, multiple hard inquiries will be combined into a single inquiry. The catch is that you can only apply for one credit card per day, so you’ll need to add in charge cards to be successful doing this tactic. It’s possible to mix applications for both business & personal cards as well.

16. You can have a maximum of four American Express credit cards at one time. This only applies to credit cards issued by American Express and only credit cards (e.g you can have as many charge cards as you like).

The only problem is we don't know when or what Amex considers a day; Could be 24 hours since last application approval, could be 12am EST or PST, or another preset time that could change.

Thats what worries me. I'm thinking since its now Wednesday they may count it as a new day.

While some people do get away with two cards for one pull, it only works with one revolver and one charge card, not two revolvers. Plus even then, it's never guaranteed.

I would wait right now. Give it a month so your HP's are a bit apart if you really want another Amex. I did 2, then 2 more 15 months apart. I know I would have messed up the 3x'x cli's and you know I still did.

Don't just go off the fact that you were instantly approved. $2K is a relatively low limit. I'd recommend identifying the issues with your profile and work on addressing them before applying for another card.

A hard pull typically has a small impact. However, it can have a bigger impact for those with thin credit profiles and/or profiles with issues. If 1 HP is a dealbreaker then you have bigger issues with your credit profile that you need to address.
