Amex turning out to be favorite

For a while I was over amex and didn't use it much but it's turned out to be my main user now. Anyone else using theirs more and more? Not sure what changed for me just one of those things I guess

I can relate in a way; of all my cards my BCP is the lowest credit limit at $1k, yet it's also one of my most rewarding cards due to the Amex offers and the 6% cash back on groceries.

The limit is annoying, but since I PIF and only use it for groceries I'm able to make it work.

Why don't you ask for CLI? They are soft pulls and pretty much instant.

I read in one of the thread that it is because of the previous chargeback with Amex they are not increasing the limit on his card

Yes. I am.

Ever since I upgraded from ED -> EDP, I find myself using it more. Not being loyal to any airline or hotel chain, I'm free to use the program that I accrue points in the quickest and then use their options... even if Delta is among them.

That's OK... you were close! I had an account included in bankruptcy 16 years ago; they keep denying my CLI request using that as the reason.

I'm actually eligible to try again right now, but I'm waiting for my score to be updated on their website to give me the best chance. I'm also considering opening a new revolver so that in 13 months I can move the limit over to the BCP, but that's for another thread.

I have both an Amex charge and credit card, I'll say they're my favorites. There's a sense of security and confidence in my purchase every time I swipe with my Amex. I feel like they'll side with their card members if a problem every arises, and I like that peace of mind.

Don't take this rude and I am not saying this is the case in this instance but be careful on answering on others' behalf with sensitive info. You may get the ONE person that doesn't take it lightly. Granted, it was on the public forum but some people may not like it spread on multiple threads.

My BCP gets the most use from me. I spend $700+ a month on groceries and $300+ on gas. Definitely my favorite card.

amex has always been my favorite. Even though I spent a lot on the Hyatt, the MRs are the most valuable in terms of versality and value.

Now that I got the United card, i'm putting the Hyatt away and meeting my spend for United sign-up bonus. Although expensive meals I will stil put on the Gold since its 2x pts dining. United is only 1 pt for each dollar which sux (except for United purchases..)

Plus the Gold card has a certain level of prestige when ur using it so..

I have Citi, Chase, Bank of America and many other bank cards, yet, AmEx remains my favorite. I use the Everyday, Preferred Blue, and PRG. Love them all! The rewards adds up fast. Sometimes their reward thing is a little slow to show up but worth it as I rack up tons of rewards.

I honeslty think MR and UR are about the same in value, the one thing i really like about UR over MR is hyatt vs hilton. Much better values via hyatt, but less overall hotels which can be an drawback. It also depends on if you low fule surcharge flights on Star alliance vs one world.

oh yeah, I basically only use my prg...I think its the perfect card for someone who likes rewards and pifs. I really don't use my other cards, just enough to keep them alive. I have a comfort level with the csr's or at least most of the time I do. amex handles au's better than any company imo, lots of control. the web portal is clean and chat works great. I had other cards a decade prior but there was a special feeling I got when I got my gold card in, gulp, 85' anyhow, I digress I feel like a card salesman lol

Thought I was the only one that loves their web portal. Wish their iphone app was a little more fluid. But they update much more than any other bank or creditors which I love. They really take care of their members.

its outstanding, just look around lol. for me chase has to have the best mobile app, finger print on my galaxy 7 and boom I am in! ha-ha. the only thing I use mobile apps for it to verify a payment. when one uses only one card there is a heck of a lot less that can go south. I like clean and amex is all about clean
