JCP MasterCard Upgrade

Got mail today from JCP telling me they're upgrading my JCP store card to JCP MasterCard in August. I wasn't aware they still did this--anyone else getting this offer?

This is one of my cards that is not a Visa or Mastercard. I can't wait until mine upgrades. I keep it because I shop at Sephora!

Great news! I have a JCP store card. I had hoped I would be upgraded one day, but haven't heard any recent reports of anyone being upgraded.

Awesome! Congrats! I would like this too one day , looked pretty cool in a someones signature i saw/ see here on the forum . Only thing is i wouldnt want it if it would be another account , different from original. maybe after all my inq fall off and my current crop ages together i would in a heartbeat

Can you use it at all Sephora stores, like the ones in the mall?

You can't use it at the stand alone stores. Only the Sephora at JC. However, you can use your JC card online at Sephora.com.

This is great to hear!

Hopefully others who have the PLCC version will get the upgrade as well!

Unfortunately, these upgrades are always a new account - no new inquiry though. It something you'd need to consider before accepting the upgrade offer.

I've had the card since September 2012 when I went on a GE app binge for JCP, Walmart, Amazon and Lowe's. I used it heavily in 2013 to buy some furniture and other things for the house, but haven't used it at all in the past year.

Yup. That's exactly what they do. You'll even see both accounts when you log in online. The store card account will show up as closed and the Visa/MC version will show as open.

Interesting. If they said right now we are upgrading you id probably do it since it couldnt really hurt me any more than i am at present with such new accounts. But if in six months to a year maybe differeng story. If you dont mind my asking Sunkissed does your current credit limit automaticly convert over to the MC version or would they start you over with different amount?. I like the part about no new inquiry though

Usually the new card will have the same credit limit that the store version had. However, that is not always the case. All of mine converted with the same limit. I was able to get a $100 increase on my Walmart card shortly after it upgraded.

I got the same letter today. This will be my first Synchrony upgrade to a MC product. My current store card is about 2 years old with a limit of $4,950. I don't use it a lot, only a few time actually. Haven't used it in over 6 months. I was suprised to get the upgrade letter.

I too received the upgrade offer yesterday! Im curious too see if the limit will increase.
