I want that card, Blue Cash + Chase Freedom will give me a very good mix for best cashback.

So I would like to know, what do they pull in CA or maybe in general, whogavemecredit didnot help too much.

My TU (PFico) score is 715 this month and 705 Ex, last month, I guess that will go up this month.

What else doI need to check to get that card? are my scores good enough for that card?

Thanks,

AmEx is an EX puller, although a few people have reported recently that they pulled all three on them - ugh!

I'd think you'd be fine score-wise, although AmEx seems to be tightening things up by the minute, so... nothing's certain with them. As for what else you might need to look out for, have you got any baddies of any kind? And recent inquiries, recent new accounts, much utilization elsewhere, etc?

Blue Cash is a great card if you run enough money through it to get into the higher-earning tier early enough in the year to make it really worthwhile. I love mine, but it only works so well because I have my husband on it as an AU, and between us we put just about everything through that account. This month's statement is about to close, and at my last reckoning we've racked up around $70-$75 in cashback for the month - pretty nice! The thing that's not so great about it is the constant worry that AmEx is going to take offence at something and CLD the card down to an unusable limit - I'd really rather not have to be fretting about "upsetting" them constantly, especially when I'm doing nothing wrong, always PIF, and don't carry balances elsewhere. But I'm sure you know all that, so just as long as you're prepared to walk on eggshells a bit, it can be a fantastic card!

your scores look good for approval for Blue Cash, it's what can happen after you're a member that can be more of a concern, but then you're already aware to be careful with them no doubt. Amex is a big EX puller but i am in NY. they frown on new accounts and balances IMO. i was approved for their Clear with slightly lower scores than yours and supposedly Clear is a little harder to get. upon my Clear app. i already held their One card.

odd though, somebody in another recent thread just posted a tid bit, reportedly from another blog that a cs rep told an amex member that amex isn't taking additional cc apps. from current card members but charge cards can still be added. it sounds like an urban legend to me since so many members here have reported carrying 3,4,5 amex cards. so... not sure if you are already an amex holder but if so just thought i'd mention that post in case it has merit.

They will pull EX. With your scores and nothing unusual on your CR I'd say you will probably be approved.

AMEX Blue Cash is my go-to card. I got $645 cash back last year from them on 37k of charges. I have a 30k limit with them, and PIF every month and have never experienced anything other than good service & free money from them. I get paid to use their card since I've never paid them one penny in interest since I PIF every month.

I just got approved for the Chase Freedom while having TU and EQ frozen to prevent identity theft. I'm in California and obviously they pulled EX since that's the only one I temporarily lifted the freeze. If you spend more than 10k per year, AMEX Blue Cash will give you back the most money. If you spend less than that, then the Chase Freedom Cash back card will work best for you. Make sure you don't get the Chase Freedom POINTS card...points are such a scam, as far as I'm concerned there's nothing better then COLD, HARD, CASH.

Don't carry a balance or you'll end up paying more in interest to them than you'll get cash back. USE THEM, don't let them USE YOU!

personally i think that citi platinum amex(3\5 points per dollar =3%\5% back in gift cards ) + shwab, orchard or other 2% card where they dont take amex. Blue cash + the 2% card is also good but you have to spend quite a bit to make it worth it
