Discover Cards offerered by other banks?

The only one I'm currently aware of is the True Value (Hardware) Discover card by Comenity.

There may be other banks as well... some of the other members here will hopefully chime in soon!

Discover was courting Credit Unions for a time but I haven't seen them grow in that segment for a long while.

HSBC used to have a Discover; I had the sub-prime version of it... it was called the Direct Rewards Discover card.

I closed it back in 2013 right after it was sold (along with the rest of HSBC's accounts) to Capital One... so technically for a few months I had a Capital One Discover Card, although it wasn't marketed like that. The only time you were aware of Capital One backing it was if you called the CSRs would mention "... by Capital One" and in the fine print on the bill.

It wasn't terrible for a rebuilder card, but it only had a $300 credit line, and in six years it never got a single CLI. It had an AF of $59 and an APR of 19.9% (roughly... could have been 19.99% - can't remember how many decimals). It even paid 1% cash back on purchases, and my favorite part... as 'nerfed' as it was, it participated in the 'Cash Over' program just like a "regular" Discover Card - you could get cash back at Wal-Mart or the grocery store without it being a cash advance.

Capital One eventually converted them all to (I believe) Platinum MasterCards, but I closed mine before that happened.

This and the TrueValue Discover are the only two 'other bank' Discover cards I'm aware of, and of the two the TrueValue is the only one still in existance (again, that I know of). I am aware of some Discover debit cards offered by non-Discover entities, but I don't think that's what the OP had in mind.

AFAIK, FNBO doesn't even list it on their credit cards landing page anymore; to be able to even get to the link quoted above, I think you have to manually search their site? Could also potentially be an indication that they may be phasing it out....

I don't think it's a true Discover card. Comenity Capital Bank actually gives you the credit and states that they are using the Discover trademark. So you would be in with Comenity Capital. A step up from Comenity.

There's no doubt about that... it's definitely not with Discover Bank - the TrueValue Discover is with Comenity (or Comenity Capital) and the one mentioned by salt_water is issued by FNBO. They simply run on the Discover network.

That's what the OP asked about, though... Discover cards issued by banks other than Discover Bank.

I resisted asking "Why". But I can resist no more! Why would you want a Discover branded card from another bank? (As Discover still has slightly less acceptance than V/MC). Now if the card had great features, sure, but then it is the great features, rather than the Discover network, that matters.

Lol well I have my actual Discover but I have many Visas and MCs and even an Amex. But I just want two Discovers I know crazy but since Discover wont give me a miles card (Shrugs) my IT Card turns 2 on the 17th of this month. And you can bet I am instagramming it with a happy bday pic!

So you want a second Discover card simply for the novelty of having a second one? A co branded discover would offer nothing in the way of benefits that your current discover offers so it's really kinda pointless, plus those co branded ones are rather unattractive. Why not just keep working on getting a miles card and that way maybe you could actually get some use out of it. But hey it's your credit do as you please.

The True Value Discover card actually looks to have some pretty awesome rewards although they align with the normal discover benefits. You get 3% back on purchases at true value 2% back on purchases at gas and grocery stores and fianlly you get 1% back on every other purchase..You also get a $5 gift voucher yearly. They also offer interest free financing on purchases over $299 if paid in full within 6 months. You also get the $0 fraud liability and 24/7 roadside assistance; its a pretty awesome store card! You must note however that the cashback must be used in True Value; but still its great for any homeowner to have.
