Question regarding Venture Miles

Hi everyone, so if I'm making a purchase of $2000 dollars in travel and I have around $1000 dollars worth of redemable miles am I able to apply it to part of the charge? Or do I need enough miles to cover the whole charge?

You are able to choose how much you want to apply to the purchase. I just applied 550 to a purchase of 700 for a hotel stay.

Perfect, thanks for the response. That's what I thought would happen but I also didn't want to charge 2k and then not be able to apply the 1k miles. Appreciate the clarification.
