I'd ditch that card.

Maybe try for non sub card from cap one maybe you'll get a decent sl and be able to grow with that one.

closing Capital one starter card???

I have a Cap 1 card with a 300 Sl and was never given a CLI until I asked and was given another 100. I have had it since 2012 and my credit is now in a great place and I recently went on an app spree and was approved for everything I applied for with great SL. My question for those familiar with capital 1, should I keep it and just go for increases every 6 months or close it? Will it ever have a decent limit now that my credit scores and file are greatly improved? Or will they keep wasting my time with 100 dollar increases? Or would closing it and apping for a different cap 1 card be a better option?

Im guessing the card might not have any upward mobility due to its original classification... Ditch it... (some Cap One cards get "stuck" and do not move)

Another option is apply for another cap1 product and merge the 300$ limit.. kinda a waste but it might help....still will have the threefor pulls)

Seriously check and see if you prequalify for any Cap One cards... perhaps a better card is already waiting for you... Cap One prequalifys are one of the more solid...

You also could see if there were any offers on that account.. and try a product change..

http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/Cap1-Chat-Don-t-forget-to-ask/td-p/4632794

That said.. Perhaps you also should ditch the Matrix card..... thats another sub subprime card...... You do not need this ....Your account stays on record for up to 10 years... you do not need its padding.. or even the cap1s..

Im pretty sure if your scores have improved and you can handle the triple pull... Cap One will give you a better SL without all the begging...

-J
