BofA Cash Rewards

Hello all. I just got approved for this card the other day and have not received it yet. However i was looking over the designs on the website today and noticed many different designs on this card. Is it possible to change my card from thatr red hidious beast to say the major league baseball card? can i do it before i receive my card? or is that a different card altogether? I know discover lets you choose your designs. any advice glady taken. Taxi.

I've had this card and account for 9 months and have never seen any option to change the card design. Sorry, taxi.

Me too.. I had the BoA secured card that was upgraded to unsecured approx 2 years ago. Just PC'd this card to the BoA cash rewards two weeks ago and waiting for my card to come. Def interested in finding out the answer.v

Ok guys i will let everyone know. But there is no doubt when you go to their website. It clearly shows at least 4-5 cards called the cash rewards. all with the same $100 cash back bonus after $100 spend. All with 15 months no APR promo period. i just don't see any difference between them. So i figured i could switch as well with no problems.

MLB is MC red one is Visa that you got as well.. They have 100's of versions of the 3-2-1 card through alumni etc

Konwing how traditional and "inside the box" BoA is, I would expect them to say that you can only have the specific card design you applied for and not switch to another design later (i.e., MLB, World Wildlife Fund, Susan Komen card, University alumni card)

You cannot just abtrirarily or quickly change the design, but you can do a PC to the MLB version, etc, at least in theory (sometimes the PC policies change). So may or may not be worth the effort since the PCs do take a few weeks with them.

These are all the ones i saw as well. I wonder what the real difference is. I only applied to the mailer i sent. based on the type of card they all say exactly the same thing. Bankamericard cash rewards. and these are all visa cards. I will call when i get card and see if i can change.

Makes sense. if that is the way they want me to go as long as not a hp. I would do that.

Yes you can! Just call customer service and let them know you want to change the affinity design to the MLB design. Since BofA sponsors MLB, they pretty much have a design for every single team. The only thing is that they will have to reissue the card, so you'll have to wait another 5-7 business days until you get the new one. Not sure if they have all the selections online, but the personal bankers in the branch can show you their digital catalogue of all their debit and credit card designs.

I would have went for the MLB $200 version, and maybe grabbed a 2nd or BBR............ Maybe its not too late to call in and ask and say you meant to apply for the MLB $200 version.

It's not like I was looking at all the options online. They sent me a mailer with an invitation number to apply for the cash rewards. Interest rate after promo 17.24% yikes. It was the 4th mailer in less than 3 weeks. So I just opened it. Went to website. Put in invitation code and info. And boom. Approved. I did not really know there was a differ C until later.

Still nice to get the card though! Be prepared for huge limits and nice BT checks quite frequently!

I see u have that FNBO 1.5% amex. My friend just got a black envelope invited to apply for it. Their APR goes down to 11.99 I believe (although I am betting 12.24)

Just got off the phone with Card Services and Online Services trying to request the polar bear design. First, there is no digital catalog of affinity designs that is viewable by customers. I'm not sure where the person posting above got that idea.

The CS rep was not able to direct me anywhere to change the card design. She saw a tab in her system that allowed her to help me apply for the National Wildlife Federation design card, but obviously I don't want to do that since I already have the Cash Rewards card.

She said there is nothing in her system that lets her complete this design change for me, but took my number and someone will be calling me back. We'll see if a change is possible.

Will keep everyone posted. Thanks taxi for bringing this up as a possibility.

I use to work with BofA as a personal banker. We have a digital catalog (not sure if it's available to ppl online) and it had all these codes. I would literally call card services for my customers n tell the reps to change the card design. For example, the Susan G Komen had its own code on the catalog n I would give that to the rep.

Unfortunately, the CS rep does not have a tab that is allowing this, so I will be receiving a call back to see if it is possible. Online Services checked for me as well in addition to Card Services. They can see designs, but cannot see any tab that allows a card design change - only new applications. Will update when I have more information.

I have a BoA Cash Rewards WMC (the generic/default BoA design), that looks exactly the same as the VISA version, except for the card network logo of course. After doing some research here on the forum, I came across a thread that mentioned that BoA does offer a non-MLB MC version of the Cash Rewards card, but it is less-marketed, and less well-known than the VISA version, and that BoA will sometimes send targeted mail apps for the MC version.
