Does anyone know if the Chase Amazon is part of the 5/24?

It is often reported here to NOT be part of the 5/24 rule. In my own personal experience, it is not subject to that rule.

Thanks I received a prequalified piece of mail today for it and I didn't know if it was legit. Never qualified for or had a chase card.....

If you're going to do the Chase Amazon card, make sure you go through an app that gives the bonus gift card.

The apr listed is the highest they have. I assume this was sent to me because I do over 20 orders a month and rent movies on prime

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Chase Amazon is definitely NOT part of the 5/24. I was just approved by them after initially receiving the 30 day message. Applied on 6/19 and got the email today that I was approved (for a measly $1000, but it's my first Chase card, so I'll take it). They pulled EX and EQ (9 INQ with EQ in the last six months and 13 with EX).

Congrats! Seems like this card is always given a low credit limit. Mine started at $900 and I've read all over this place of others in the same ball park.

Why would this card not be part of the 5/24 rule though? What makes it unique?

I'm not quite sure why you would be interested in Amazon Chase. I think the Amazon store card is superior at 5% cash back, but you do have to be a prime member. If you have services like Netflix or Hulu, cut them off and pay Amazon for Prime, you'll get the streaming service and more.

I got the Visa simply to get the $70 Amazon gift card. Not sure if it's possible, but would like to someday PC this to a different Chase card.

MIght be true, but I don't watch television. It's only there if I happen to feel like watching something which occurs extremely rarely.

Which goes to show, not everyone has the same needs, nor the same needs for certain cards.

While I like the Prime Video benefit, there's simply not enough included content on Prime to make Netflix or Hulu unnecessary for many people.

Not true. I got my card maybe about 6 weeks or so ago with a starting limit of 7500. Chase Amazon is not part of the 5/24 cause I got like 30 accounts within last 2 years before the chase Amazon. I still prefer the Amazon store card

I got Netflix Hulu and prime. All of them is a bit difference. I'm about to cut Hulu. I just can't wait to watch a chapter or 2 every week. I'll just wait till its on netflix to watch everything at once. Only problem is some of Hulu show isn't on netflix

This describes me as well... I watch Netflix right before bed, and I treat Hulu like a DVR for 'new' programming (it's not quite as good as a 'real' DVR, but it's better than nothing).

Honestly I struggle to find a use for Prime Video... very occasionally I'll purchase an episode that I miss on Hulu from Prime (using my $1 credits earned when I voluntarily forgo two-day shipping), but otherwise it doens't get much love from me. I could certainly do without it, but I have Amazon Prime anyway for the shipping, so it's a nice 'bonus'.

Right, comparing Prime Video to Netflix/Hulu seems a little odd, after all, with a Netflix subscription you don't get free two day shipping on millions of items! Prime Video is a minor feature of Prime, which might be useful sometimes to some people,but is certainly not THE reason to sign up for Prime.

Don't think so. I was just approved for it; then I received a letter declining me for the Chase Freedom U/L because of 5/24.
