Paypal 3/16 upgrade letter UPDATED (5/30)

Was just curious if anyone had received their card yet? Or, has anyone been able to view their new account when checking their Paypal balance. So far I cant see anything.
My account still shows as a SmartConnect account.

Me three. Has anyone asked Synchrony whether this will be reported as a new account? I really want to avoid that, and am considering opting out of this "upgrade".

Im assuming that it will be. SmartConnect account numbers start with a "6" and MCs all start with a "5"

Certainly the account number will change, but that doesn't mean it has to be a new tradeline...? Actually I wouldn't even mind a new line if the account open date stayed the same as the old one. My Smart Connect has been open for a while, but I can't afford a "new account" right now. What a way for Synchrony to spoil a planned card app!

I received this letter too. I called as I was wondering when I would get the card (and to ask for a CLI). I was told that they are upgrading the accounts and mailing out the cards starting May 31st.

I got that letter as well quite surprised they upgraded me with a 600 run fico. Had my smart connect 14 months before letter came in March. No card yet as others said, however I was able to call papal extras automated number. I then was able to look up my account using my SS. just gotta wait for it in the mail.

Guys!!! I just called the PayPal Extra MasterCard phone number as *betax* mentioned and it "synced" with my phone number. It then prompted for the last four of my social and presented me with account info.

Only bummer, it said I had $700 available credit with $0 in use and $140 avail to cash advance. I would be really disappointed if my entire CL didn't transfer over.
I do have a balance on my current PayPal SC account though $173 out of $2.2k. Not sure if that matters?

jayebrokyln that could be a temorary limit until you receive and activate card? My limit is only 300 with smart connect and matches the automated for the extras Mastercard. The balance"if you have one" will transfter from your smart connect when you activate the mastercard from what i read. Good Luck.

OK confirmed the Paypal Mastercard call center verifying the May 30th date as when the new cards will be mailed out. I had a little concern with my CL on the new MC..About a week ago, i called CS and got a CLI on my paypal smart account from $600 to $3500. According to CSR, my credit line on my new MC is still only $600. She quickly reviewed my account and then told me that our credit lines have not been finalized yet as our accounts are not fully set up yet. Guess Ill have to wait til my card arrives to see.

I called the number. According to the automated csr, I have a 1000 limit and a zero balance. My SC currently has a 4000 limit, and I also have a small balance. I wonder how they are going to change things over. I would hate to see my utilization suffer due to the change.

Mine said it had $500 with a $0 bal. It said I had a $100 cash advance limit. It's funny that it is giving me a CL that I had in March for my Smart Connect. I called that month after I got my upgrade letter, and had it raised to $2500.

I called mine was the current $5,100 with $1,200 cash advance limit. It also asked me to update income so hopefully a CLI at activation.

LOL! Called to close my PayPal debit card. It expired 8/15 and inactive because I never used it. I could have saved a lot of phone wait time, if I wasn't an older )))cough((( )))cough((( young man!

I don't want to derail this thread, but that's a good reminder for me to go dig out my PayPal debit card and make a small purchase as well!

Back before I had rewards credit cards I used the heck out of my PayPal Debit (for the 1% cash back) but now it is nearly forgotten about.

I actually have it with my birth certificate and passport as a 'backup' in case I ever lose my wallet and my 'real' debit and credit cards.

I was just thinking about that. when I had no rewards cards, I loved that 1% back from the debit! It does leave me with a curiosity. When the extras MC covers the difference from using the debit card, will the debit still get the full 1% for the purchase?

So what number is everyone calling to find out about upgrade. I have the letter and I called to get Cli. dENIEd. . I have been sitting at 10k for a year. But I also have much with sych. So I can't complain because they won't go higher than 10k. Maybe I will give the marvel a shot. .
