What's going on with Comenity Bank?

I have a few cards from Comenity Bank (13 to be exact...lol), every three or four months I log on to request a credit limit increase and BAM, I receive the 7 to 10 day message. I've NEVER been late with any of my cards and use them quiet frequently. What gives? It's going on 12 months since I received a cli on one of my cards- - has anyone experienced the same changes I am facing with Comenity? All of my Synchrony Cards, and even Capital One cards give cli limits like its free money... Should I just sit still?

Comenity is funny with CLIs. On one card, they make it rain, while the others are stuck at $250. Hang in there. The gates will eventually open for you. I have a VS that I opened in 2012. It was stuck at $450 for like 2 years. Then, one Christmas season, they upped it to like $1350. Today, it's at $3,150 and I get regular $200 increases every 30-45 days. Good luck!

That's great. On my VS card, they gave me a $500 limit and now I'm at $5K- I barely use them compared to my other cards that I truly want the increases on. *Sigh*. I will be very patient. Thank you.

Comenity has made some serious changes. CLI'S have dried up and people have had accounts closed for no reason. I think they caught on to people padding their credit. I was getting regular increases with my Wayfair account only and that stopped in March. I quit asking for cli's on my Overstock and Vs account because the most I am getting is $400 every six months. That isn't worth my time or effort.

It seems very much to be a YMMV situation with Comenity, lately. For me, I've only just last month FINALLY gotten them to give in on my accounts and start giving me increases. The oldest open account I have right now with them was opened in Sept 2015, just as I was starting to rebuild. Last month, I took my $250 JCrew limit to $4250 and my $350 Pier 1 limit to $5350. I've gotten increases on most of my other Comenity accounts as well. Finally got them to start approving me with starting limits that are much higher (ex: Restoration Hardware was approved a little over a month ago, SL $4K, never used, now already at $5.8K).

It seems like there's not a lot of rhyme or reason to their behavior right now. I have a few accts with them still stuck at $250, which I will be closing after a year if they don't move. My scores HAVE been on the increase the last few months, so that probably hasn't hurt, but they are all in all not so easy to figure out.

I wouldn't necessarily give up just yet. Just give them a shot again maybe in another 1-2 statement cuts and see what happens. If they end up not growing as you hope/need, ultimately you always have the option of closing them. Best of luck to you and hopefully you will see some movement, here, soon! Trust me, I feel your frustration!

Thank you. I will try to remain patient as much as I can. I will hold out until September and revisit this.

Very true. I don't have any of their cards, but lately I've read a number of posts that seem to indicate what you are saying
