Ebates & Stash Hotel Visa frozen

Both of my Synchrony Visa cards (Ebates & Stash) are frozen... Got a call by Synch today that they just need to verify income by 4506-T so no issues here ! They told me it's because of high exposure and my recently CLI... But they did tell me it could take 15-20 days after they get it to process it and verify it so my accounts will be out of service for 30+ days! !

wow i havent seen this happening much in the past. thanks for sharing, as I myself need to keep trimming back my exposure with synch. hopefully it goes quicker for you.

Neither have I :/ I just tried logging in and it told me to call, about 5 minutes later they called me. I really hope so when she said 30+ days I was like noooooo

You said in another thread that you had already provided Synchrony with 4506-T before; are they asking you for another one?

Sorry to hear and I hope it goes well. What was your usage like on the cards, and your utilization overall?(not just Synchrony) Seems as if something spooked them.

Yeah that was for my Chevron, Walmart, and other cards that I had got CLI on a few months back, they're asking for it again which is odd ,

And i normally only use one card a month about 3-5k typically but I always PIF and never let it report. My total UTL is at 1% and my Synchrony cards just have a $14 balance on them overall and its on Ebates

That's just silly to ask you for another one when they already have your taxes from a few months ago. I could understand if it was for a different year, but they're asking you to give them permission to look at the exact same tax transcript from the exact same year - that makes no sense

Hopefully they'll leave you alone after this one - at least until next year

Hopefully!! I told the rep the same thing about its the same transcript from the last verification and she just said there's nothing she can do so hopefully this is the last one for a long time hahaha

Were there some other cards you had closed down by the lender recently? Trying to remember but I believe it was Chase. 6 cards were closed by the lender, wasn't it?

Between the two, I'd lay low on the radar going forward if I were you. That's too much bad luck in too short a period of time. Sorry it is happening.

Holy smoke... this is the first I've heard of Synchrony locking somebody's accounts while they verify income... hopefully this isn't a sign of "things to come".

I'm also wondering if I should have been so bold with my own recent Synchrony CLIs... I had my Lowe's and Sam's Club MC increased to $20k each. Hopefully that isn't too much to spook them, because as fond of the cards as I am I won't be submitting tax returns to keep them if it were to come to that...

Hopefully UncleB!! Whenever I try to log in it tells me online account access is restricted and Synchrony told me they're deactivated till they receive the 4506-T.. On the last one it had in huge bold writing "submit within 30 days of this notice or your accounts will be closed" :/

I absolutely agree, UncleB. I would never comply with such a request from Synchrony of all banks, and they can go a step further than freezing and just close the accounts down and save us both the time. If they ever call me for a 4506-T I would probably end up laughing them off the phone. Their assemblage of high interest rate, limited use store (primarily) credit cards aren't at all worth enough to me to divulge the contents of my tax records to them. They are certainly no Chase or AmEx. I suppose I'd miss my Sam's Club MC though.

But I digress. I can't say that I have heard of Synchrony requesting tax documents very often, however. Hope it works out for the OP.
