I'm planning on applying for all of them on the same day. I just have to decide on huntington voice (just signed up for the checking account and hoping for the $100 sign-up bonus, if not then might not apply), nusenda, sam's club or costco or a dining and a gas card. I have both sam's club and costco memberships (my uncle gave me his sam's club card and I paid for costco since my family buys many things that only costco has).

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking about applying for the Nusenda Platiunum Cash due to the 5% tuition expenses and also gas and restaurants for 2 quarters. I think it would work well with my Discover IT and possibly Freedom. Does anyone have any personal experience with the card? Is it hard to join a qualifying organization? Are there any organizations that cost nothing to join? Is it easy to redeem points and are points worth 1c each? I'm also thinking about applying for Chase Freedom due to the 5% warehouse clubs for the rest of the year. Is it a good idea to apply for both Nusenda and Freedom? Since I already have the Discover It. Sorry for asking so many questions, I just want to make sure before I begin my app spree.

Thank you everyone.

I would recommend to do both for the non-overlap of categories. If you want some initial bonus, try the cash back card from Nusenda, which you can also upgrade to the platinum cash card later if you are not in a hurry of the education rewards.

I recently got the Platinum Cash Rewards also for the education category. Discover codes my kids daycare as Education so I was very excited at the prospect, come to find out Nusenda doesn't. Oh well. But so far I'm enjoying the 2% for the first 90 days. I haven't redeemed for cash yet, but it looks like there's a minimum redemption of $50. So that's not great unless you're maxing out the categories easily... Might be a dealbreaker for some. I can't really speak to how hard it is to join b/c I've been a member for years (live here locally) actually was my first bank account.

Redemption is certainly not the most ideal unless you max out categories and/or put high amount of spend as an everyday card.

I wish they put examples of purchases that would fall in particular categories like Discover and the Freedom does. Education could mean just about anything and you won't know until you do trial and error.

If you think you can max out education, that's something not really offered by any other cards, and if you don't mind the 50 minimum redemption, yeah go for it. You mentioned Chase AARP... I was recently going for the 200 offer as well and it appears to be unavailable fyi.

Funny how this little CU is getting some big attention with this card. I have lived in albuquerque my whole life and have banked with New Mexico Educators (Now NUSENDA) my whole adult life. I have all of my stuff with them and would highly recommend them if not for the perks of the card, for sure for the customer service.
