discover double question

would someone help me figure out if my double promo had ended. i sent a secure message and was told i signed up 6/10/16. my statement ending date is 6/18. was wondering if it's already over or if i have more time. thank you.

Its hard to say for sure, since the Discover CSR's don't really understand those few of us that signed up after already having Discover cards.

The way it should work, is you signed up 6/10/2015 so the promo didn't start until 6/19/2015 the day after your statement was generated. So in theory you should have 12 complete monthly cycles, ending 6/18/2016. So yes, your promo period has ended.

In MY case, my statement ended 6/10 so I intentionally didn't sign up until 6/12 to make my promo start on 7/11/2015. So I should have double cash back until 7/10/2016. But the CSR I talked with a couple months ago couldnt understand what I was saying even though I explained it clearly multiple times. She said that it ends a year after your sign up date, which is dumb since she told me the sign up date and the date the promo started, so I don't undertand why a CSR wouldnt understand a year long promo lasts until a year after the promo starts. But, for normal people the sign up date and promo date are the same, its the date they obtained their new Discover card. So I assume the CSR's are going by what is written in their Knowledge Base articles and not using common sense.

So anyways, I just reloaded my Amazon gift card with $1500 from Discover. If I get 10% cash back, excellent. If not, well 5% is still the best I can do, so no harm no foul.

Or just another CSR that doesn't understand what a year is. Or how to read a calendar.

I opended my discover card Jan' 2015, signed up for the "double cash promotion" around April 2015, my statement just posted today and to my surprise, my double cash earned was posted to my account, and it was like receiving a nice "tax return"!

So my situation was kind of weird. I got my discover card early November 2015 but they skipped a November statement for some reason and I didn't get my first statement until December 26th. My first statement said November 5-December 26th. So based on these data points, my double cash back will be earned through Decemver 26th 2016?

The promo didn't start until June.
