synchrony account issues (temporarily locked)

My PayPal MasterCard was declined so I called them and they said I would get a verification letter in the mail. I guess it's either address or income verification. I don't owe a whole lot on their cards but do have 30k in limits with them. Maybe inquiries scared them but not really sure.

They've lost their minds! Is this your only card with them? I have the same card. It's the only synchrony account I have.

Insane. I closed a few synch cards today. I was at almost max exposure with them anyway. I wonder what's going on..

I'm so sorry OP. This just happened to me as well. I really wonder what is going on over there. I'm at about $55k exposure with them, but have had my Care Credit account for over 10 years, so not a new customer. Very disconcerting. Hang in there and please keep us posted.

Always good to check your accounts. I say if it happens to me so be it. If its fraud protection great if not, i understand why it is concerning. I definitly think its time to start to pull in the reigns on constant cli requests with Sync( In my case anyway ) Im not saying this is OP or other posters problem , its just this has me thinking of my own standing with Synch accounts. If they keep records of your cli requests, im sure they do, im gonna step back and let my accounts age some.

I think all we can do is to continue to use our accounts responsibly and as ive seen mentioned many times here try staying off their radars. Hope all comes out ok OP!

call 800-420-5598, it's Synchrony 4506-T line.. Mine have been locked 2 weeks, rep told me they should be unlocked by Monday... Also I was told when one account goes under review, everyone of the cards under your SSN is under review :/

This just happened to me tonight! I have 14 account 98,200 exposure with them. What are they going to request from me? They said a letter was mailed out to me yesterday, I'm so mad! I can't use any of my accounts. Will they unlock our accounts or close all of them?!

What if you work off the books and collect disability? What do you do then if they are asking for a 4506 form?

Then you're going to have problems. Even if you "work off the books" you should have been claiming that income on your taxes, but that's a whole different problem for you. If you claimed a 6 figure salary, and you can only prove your disability income, I would imagine they will either CLD you, or close your accounts.

Even though my income is good and provable like I've done with them before I am going to close 21k in CL with them.... It's getting ridiculous for me, the second 4506-T in 2 months!!!, but you can close them.. It's your choice, or you can submit it and see what the outcome is !

I would wait until you get the letter because there is a chance it could be some other type of verification (address, identity, etc), but if the letter is a request for your tax transcripts and you don't want to comply (I wouldn't want to release my tax transcripts) then you can close them if you want or ask if they will accept some other form of POI.

I am beyond aggravated with this tonight so thank you all so much for answering my questions. The guy I spoke to said it was an IRS form so I apparently am being asked for proof of income. I was hoping it was just verification of my identity. What do you think? This sucks all of my accounts are locked.
