opened July 2014 and I no longer have any use for them as they were part of my rebuild.

Nice, score. Now consider following up with a letter to Synchrony, Walmart and Amazon EO letting them know the reasons you decided to close.

I'm not saying they will necessarily care, but it may make you feel better and will definitely let them know that people are not putting up with Synchrony's games.

@Humu- I'm not writing anybody anything. I have better things to do. I've never had a problem with them at all and if others have problems they can write their own letters and speak for themselves...

@Humu I am not sure why you think the OP should write a letter. No where did he state his choice to close the cards had anything to do with things other than he out grew them. So what is he suppose to write "thanks for helping me rebuild but I out grew you so now am closing my accounts"?

No one said the OP should write a letter, please re-read. It's certainly something to consider. It's fine if they were starter cards and he outgrew them, but I doubt he feels all warm and fuzzy about Synchrony after the recent events.

It's his choice, he stated he already made his choice, and I'm really happy for him, so not sure why you have an issue with it.

Good for you. I closed my Wal-Mart when I realized it was getting no rewards and I was only using it for the cashover feature. My Sam's Club and my Discover have that feature. So unless I wanted in-store special financing, it no longer served a purpose and I closed it. However, I definitely would recommend the card for people looking to build/rebuild credit, due to features like cashover and the monthly FICO score.

As for Amazon, I mainly use it these days for special financing. It has a threshold for $150 for that, whereas Blispay is $199. Of course, Blispay also give you 2% back, so there's that. I may eventually close mine. I get 5% at Amazon with Sallie Mae, so I don't use that feature, either.

You make it sound as if Humu was ordering the OP to write a letter. The question is why are you pursuing this attack?

We have been asked to act nicely to other posters. I have read quite a few post by Humu and find them to be both kind and helpful. Let's please drop this line of attack and move on.

Congratulations on the rebuild op! Do what makes you happy, that financing with Walmart is tempting me.

However I have promissed myself I won't deal with Synchrony or Commenity; neither of them gave me a chance when I was trying to build credit! I would have been happy with a 100$ limit.
