topic Balance transfer from Lowe's to another card? in Credit Cards

Hello, all! In a couple of weeks I will be renovating and furnishing a new house. I plan to use my boyfriend's Lowe's card for 24 months 0% financing on a huge purchase. I had previously thought I would do the 84 months at 5.99% or whatever it is, but now I am thinking I should use the 24 month deal and then do a balance transfer to another card if I don't have it paid off at the end of the promo period. I have never done a balance transfer before, but I usually have offers on my Discover It for them.

My question is, can I transfer the balance from his Lowe's card to one of my cards if I decide to do it this way? Is there any trouble transferring a balance from a store card to a major or from his account to a card owned by me? Thanks in advance for your replies!
