CSP downgrade to Sapphire

Well, the downgrade from CSP to Sapphire was a success. I was debating but eventually pulled the trigger and have no regrets. Instead of a travel card I now have a dining card since I only get 2X on dining, and 1X on everything else. The card looks exactly the same except it is plastic. Even the color is the same blue. I will miss that metal card though. But I already have the Citi TY Premier so I couldnt justify paying another $95 annual fee on a card that offered me less than the Citi card does.

I didn't even know Chase offered two variants of the Sapphire card.

They don't any more, but you used to be able to apply for the Chase Sapphire. For now, you are still able to PC to it, but I don't expect that to last for ever.

It is useful for those with a CSP who then get an Ink, as it gets rid of the annual fee and allows 2URs on dining which can be transferred to partners. But outside of that, not a whole lot of point, with several 2% everywhere cards, no need for a 2% dining card.

But I assume OP had reasons!

I didnt particulary care for the freedom/freedom unlimited and I didnt want to lose the CL. So I went with the Sapphire. I can still get a lof of use out of the card, even with having the Citi TY Premier. I can still redeem for cash back or statement credit. One other reason...the card is still damn sexy.

I would still rather get a general 1.5% CB card over a 2% CB ( BAsically) on dining with a card...

isn't it the same card number? If so, I think you can keep using your CSP metal card.

It should be since it was for me but im not 100% if the security code changed.

The card number is the same. The 3 digit secutity code is changed.
