Hello everyone.

I was just considering applying for the Disney Visa and paused to ask a few questions:

1) Does the 5/24 rule apply to this card? If so, I definitely cant apply and the other questions dont really matter at the moment I guess.

2) What are typical scores that get approved for this card?
-Before anyone says "everyones profile is different", I KNOW. I just want to know if anyone has any experience with getting approved for this card and what their scores were/are like. I eventually want to add this card to my wallet for future Disney Cruises I plan on taking with my family and any information I can get would be incredibly helpful.

3) Are the starting limits decent/does it grow well in your experience/from what you've seen? I would definitely be using it quite a bit if I ever got it but I dont want to waste my time if not.

Thank you

I do not have the Chase Disney card however it is top of my Equifax wish list. As of the latest Ive heard, Disney card is NOT currently under the 5/24 rule. I like it because it would give me an IN with Chase.

Typical scores that I saw were mid 600s.

As for starting CL cant help you with that one specifically but it would be a safe guess that the stronger your file the larger the SL

Hope that helps

As a former Disney Visa holder (and a College of Disney Knowledge graduate), I can tell you that it just isn't really the best option for helping you save on Disney travel.

You may occasionally get an extra few days to book a particular special, but you won't get any additional discounts out of the Mouse. And the return on this card is 1%. You can beat that with many, many other cards out there. Granted, the card images are wonderful, but the returns are just not competitive anymore. The Target Red Card or a Sam's Club Mastercard can get you 5% off your Disney travel expenses, and a slew of other cards can help you save up cash back at 1.5 or 2% - much faster than it racks up at 1%. Even Disney themselves will give you a 2% return using their vacation savings program, as opposed to the card.

The only real time that the Disney card benefits over others is if you book last-minute travel, and they will still give you six months with no interest to pay on your trip cost.

If you book ahead of time, and need to spread payments out, Disney already will do that for nothing - as long as you're ready to be paid off a month or so ahead of travel. You just deposit your trip and make whatever payments you want until your due date, with no fees or interest anyway.

That being said, if you still want the card - back when I got mine, years and years ago, I think I was in the 690-700 range. Credit limit was not great, I think it started with $2000 or something like that, and it didn't grow very aggressively. I closed it after about three years. I carry the Chase Disney debit card for the little perks - merch discounts, character photos, etc - because I have a Chase checking account anyway. Those perks alone were not enough reason to keep a 1% Visa alive and running.

AFAIK the Disney isn't included in 5/24. As stated above it's not a great card for spending on, just a 1% return in the form of Disney Dollars. The $49 AF version returns 2% on some categories which is a bit better, but you can still beat this with other options. Very occasionally there are perks that can make holding the card useful, such as early access to sales and whatnot. I have the no AF one as an AU and I almost never spend on it. It's useful on occasion at the Disney store (10% off if you spend $50) and in the actual parks you get some discounts. But for an everyday use credit card you can do better.

As far as limits and growth, it's Chase. Best practice is to assume the limit you start with is the final limit unless you ask for an increase. They are not big on auto increases.

Great card for the in park perks and the option to finance any Disney package for 6 months if you need to. My wife uses her Disney Premier for everything. Gives us that little bit extra on our vacations...like a nice meal or two. That is just what she likes to do and makes her happy every time she pulls it out.
